i. put a sock in it; [If you've been in the community long enough you might be approached the night of the new arrivals. There's a problem with one of the arrivals. A female child is being uncooperative. Maybe there's something that could be said or done to calm her.
Ellie is terrified and feels like she's being held against her will. She refuses to stop shouting insults or lashing out, and won't let her clothes be taken off her body. She's bitten at least half a dozen natives and even a couple of the other new arrivals that tried to help. She's pressed herself into a corner of the room, and is trying hard to glare through the tears that are in her eyes.
Someone new walks through the door and Ellie shoves herself back in the corner even more. If she makes herself look small enough she'll really be able to surprise them when she attacks.]
I'll tell you what I told everybody else. Stay. Away.
ii. in freakish flight part one; [Finding a place for herself here isn't hard. Ellie is good at adapting to fit in. She moves in a house with a bunch of kids her age and is glad that the deck feels cut off from the rest of them. Having so many people her own age reminds her of the military academy. Thinking of that always ends up making her remember Riley.
She chooses not to think about Riley yet.
Food is probably pretty easy to find here but it's the homemade jam that she wants. Ellie isn't greedy by nature but she's victim to her eyes being larger than her stomach is. She also hasn't trusted the food here enough to eat it when it's been offered to her. A couple days after arriving and she's starving. When everyone is busy with breakfast she grabs one of the almost empty jars of jam and runs off with it. She hides in plain sight and starts dipping her fingers into the jar to eat. It's messy and she eats like she hasn't in weeks.]
iii. in freakish flight part two; [Ellie wakes to the sound of chirping. It keeps going and when nothing dies she feels triumphant because she knew the whole silent thing was bullshit. This just proves it, right? She hurries out of bed and gets dressed so she can hurry off the deck that's being used as her bedroom. She's still in the process of pulling her hair into a ponytail as she runs down the sand paths to find the birds.
She stops at the fountain and stands on its edge to look out at all the houses. She can be found there for about thirty minutes. Later she's busy trying to find a good stick to poke the birds with. She goes to everyone's porch that still has a bird left standing to poke at it and see what it does.]
iv. alone or together; [She's just here for the food. Lamar or whoever is posing as him is a dick as far as she's concerned. She doesn't want to get involved in this town's business. It's not hers yet. They make it her business with the red dust. It gets all in her face and makes her cough. It fills her nose and mouth and manages to get into her lungs.
When she stops coughing and drinking more than her fair share of water she wipes her eyes. They eventually clear and she blinks when she sees everything in black and white. She panics and stumbles her way into a corner of the room. No matter how much she rubs at her eyes nothing looks right.]
[ooc: First come, first served for whoever wants Ellie to see them in color. Otherwise that prompt is ota for anyone to calm her down.]
