The way Majima looks towards the exit gives Newt the hint -- he doesn't particularly want to be in there still either. He nods, even if he doesn't understand what was signed and doesn't think it's the time to pull his device out and ask for him to do it again.
His hand finds Majima's shoulder to help guide him to the exit. When they manage to make it outside, Newt begins rubbing at his eyes again, trying to fix the lack of colour in vain.
