[Maria doesn't appear to take any enjoyment from the Hunt in and of itself. She is calm, resolute, and quiet. There are no battle cries or words to rally Arya, no congratulations on a kill, only moving from target to target with efficiency. Maria sees this a duty, not a sport.
The first time she waivers is when the come across a citizen in need, clearly not one of the roaming attackers. Maria is swifter to act directly. Drawing attention away wasn't a guarantee, when the pursuer already had their murderous eye set on a person. Dashing in, she jumps, disappears, then reappears to tackle the man with the force of her body weight barreling down. Tackling him to the ground, she draws her gun to strike him with blunt force and gets stabbed twice in the gut before landing her own killing blows in turn. The man and knife disappear and leave her with newly opened wounds.]
