[Akechi was in a bad situation, he and someone he thought was his friend hurt each other, and then they betrayed him, abandoned him, and got him killed somehow? He loves his friends, after all--how can he not hurt when they hurt?
He doesn't press for details--obviously this is a deeply person and painful issue, something Akechi has to choose to talk about on his own. For the moment, he doesn't say anything at all, because he knows without a doubt that there's nothing he can say to make a hurt like that better. Carpet simply glides over to drape himself over Akechi instead; it's hard to tell if he's trying to give the boy a hug, or just trying to cover him up to protect him from a world that's clearly been big, cold, scary, and painful.]
