[ a couple of the people who go off with the guy look more like they're spoiling for a fight than willfully misplacing trust, mostly in the way they carry themselves. Faith is one of those people, and Jess is similarly disappointed by the apparently uneventful trip. the lack of proven shadiness just makes him extra shady, in Jess's opinion. the answer to her question is suitably creepy and probably the most accurate she's likely to get, if true.

Jess bites back a sigh and narrows her thoughts down to ] Did he make it seem like it was illegal or something?
