Oh, fuck no.

(Eddie says this quietly and gently but instantly, and he doesn't even think about swearing when he does. It's just instinctual and at once a refusal. He does grimace a bit and backtrack.)

Um- sorry. (He has no idea if Frank is one of those adults who cares about kids swearing. He clears his throat a little, cheeks flushed with maybe shame or embarrassment.)

I'd rather learn to try and punch someone than hurt an animal, okay? I definitely- I can't do that. (He really, really just can't. The kid cried from how much he liked animals sometimes. And for some animals, he was just plain too scared of them. Like lobsters. His mom had yelled at him for being too scared to even eat those. This kid wasn't even remotely built to learn to hunt or even fish.)

Thanks though. Um. For offering. I don't know how my friends would feel about hunting either. (Bill, maybe...But he really didn't think he'd be interested in anything beyond fishing. Maybe that made them soft, Eddie doesn't know, but it can't be helped.)

Sorry. I know that it kinda makes me sound like a girl. (Because boys were supposed to want to hunt and stuff, but Eddie knew he'd either sob hysterically or scream hysterically. Neither of which anyone wanted to see- even without Sound Eaters involved.)
