honestly i'd be shocked if the losers DIDNT know morse code

(What a good pal. Got his back already and they barely know each other. He grins at him after his petal is fixed and then proceeds to focus on the name that's spelled out. It's easy-peasy to figure out. He mouths 'Will' at the other boy, and grins.

Morse code was something Bill and him had studied up late nights after they went to go to sleep during sleepovers. After WWII, it wasn't uncommon for young boys to go out of their way to learn some of those things. They had always felt a little bit like they were in trench warfare themselves. Which was dumb make-believe, but Eddie's glad for it the moment he figures out the message.

He was never quite as good as Bill, and not as good as Will, but he does slowly and accurately respond: . -.. -.. .. .

Then for the sake of it, he draws a smiley face on Will's wrist, feeling rather accomplished.)
