Honestly, were Charlie a regular adult, Eddie would have instantly hated him in that second. It would have been condescending and make Eddie feel like he was a child (even though he was, no twelve year old actually thought themselves as a child) (at least not until they were thinking about how cruel adults were). However, since Charlie wasn't an adult human, Eddie wondered if this was because Charlie didn't know how to interact with people or maybe this was how he interacted with kid-centaurs.
So Eddie doesn't hate Charlie. He lets himself be pat and stares up at Charlie with large, curious eyes.
"You're welcome. If you need help, I can try my best. I'm- I kind of have some medical training," he says, though haltingly. He doesn't know how much that knowledge could be applied to a centaur. "You're...You're in my house. Are you living here too?"
