[ Has he ever seen a smile quite like that on Akechi...?
Akira tilts his head as he briefly studies the older teen, his expression softened in brief curiosity. But... it doesn't take long to remember their last conversations, and something immediately swells up within him: a need to figure out how to keep that smile intact... to see him genuinely happy.
Ever since he consumed that drink, he's been feeling a strong urge to hug just about everyone around him - he was able to shove it down... There isn't an especially strong bond with any of those people, after all. But... he can count the number of times he remembers being hugged on one hand.
But, aside from the urge to hug, he really wants to go and personally reassure every single person here. To tell them they're all going to get out of here just fine, and that he'll fight to protect every single one of them.
And there are so many people he's lost, some even right in front of his eyes. Losing Makoto hit the hardest, since he arrived here; her still not being here, still being... gone? Needless to say, he's had some super long nights of staring up at the ceiling.
No more... Please let him find a way to stop all the deaths at the hands of these things... It's possible he could lose Akechi again--
Naturally, he doesn't speak, but something in his expression might make it obvious there are a lot of things he'd rather say with his voice. He settles for using his hands: ]
I miss just sitting and talking to you, you know...
[ It's as though someone's pressed a button in his brain, deactivating the filter on all the nicest, most affectionate, neediest thoughts he's ever had...
His actions, too, apparently. Because, without too much of a warning (aside from how slowly he does it), he's stepping forward and gently wrapping his arms around Akechi. ]
