( the footage the teams had shared bothered noctis for a variety of reasons... he looked agitated as he sat there, trying to gather his thoughts. the images that he'd seen replayed behind his closed eyes again and again as he tried to imagine what it must have been like for the people of this world to have befallen such a fate...

and the sound eaters themselves, the young and the shifting unsettled him the most, reminding him of the most frightening of daemons... and worse. his eyes remained closed, squeezed shut at first as though to try and cleanse his mind's eye... and eventually relaxing as he seemed to start nearly drifting off to sleep...

as the picture of a shifting eater coming down on him shook him back awake.

he pressed a hand to his forehead, leaning forward from his seated position.

( this was definitely unexpected. looking around the room at everyone, he wondered who would actually decide to take up permanent residency in a cursed place like this. sure, the promise of a fully soundproofed suite probably made it tempting but, for him... there was no way he could ever commit to something like this.

there was still too much to do back home. luna... was waiting for him.
but still, he wanted to understand what was on the minds of the others that had been dragged to this place, like him— )
