Featuring: Eddie Kaspbrak + Open to anyone
What's Happening? Eddie's dancing to some sick tunes at Town Hall, fixing up some interesting light mechanics, and...handing out lemonade because how generic can we be (also giving out other food goods from the greenhouse).
When: Various days throughout March. New players may tag into this even though I'm posting it now.
Content Warnings: All the music linked is uncensored so there's some swearing/questionable content, Eddie's usual content warnings may be applicable at any time.Underage kid technically offering up booze- potential mentions of underage drinking. I will try to tag headers if particularly harsh things come up.

(Attending classes helped well enough, but Eddie still hardly knew what he was doing. He was sitting on the floor with a pile of wires in front of him, and a variety of other odds and ends. There were a couple of light bulbs sitting in front of him as well. He was fussing mostly with wires, twisting them together at the ends and looking this way and that next to a notepad he had laying open next to him. There was a bunch of notes inside it with little drawings that clearly showed the blue prints for something.
Any one of these days, someone might see Eddie getting the wires properly attached to one of the light bulbs. He has an assortment of what looks like buttons and maybe on a lucky day, one might see him pushing one of these buttons and seeing the light bulb flicker to life. Every now and then, he messes up something with the wires and gets a tiny shock. It never fails to make him jump and yelp before sticking said injured finger into his mouth with a glare sent to the wires. But it seems those incidents are few and far in between.
What on earth was this kid making anyway?)

CW: Vulgarity in linked songs though not all of them.
(Figuring out how an ipod worked with its speaker had been a bit of a trip for Eddie, but he had figured it out in the safety of his soundproof room. He had also indulged himself greatly in his soundproof room by playing his music quite loudly. Not really 'blasting' it, but it was more noise than he had heard in a long time and it felt great. Even though he didn't recognize an overwhelming majority of the music, it turned out that the future had some awesome tunes. It felt unfair to hog all this greatness to himself, so he decided to start setting up shop over at the Town Hall.
The locals might not be too fond of him doing this, but after finding one of the soundproof rooms used for classes, he left the door open and set the music up on a desk. Again, he wasn't blasting it, but for such a quiet area, anyone would be able to hear the music playing idly and when they follow it to its source?
Well, Eddie was dancing quite generously around an open space he'd cleared out in the room. There was no real rhyme or reason to his dancing. Some people might realize he's using a few moves that had cultivated during the fifties, but mostly he's just moving around to the beat, bobbing his head, and sometimes even singing along. He listens to mostly faster songs, but there are a few lulling slow songs that gets him swaying in lazy circles. It felt good to be noisy and move around, so all in all, Eddie was flushed smiles. Whenever a song is from the fifties, it's clear that Eddie knows the song much better.
Whenever someone enters though, there's quite a few different ways Eddie will react.
1. If it's another child, particularly one he recognizes, he might grin and instantly go over to grab at their hands and pull them in to dance with him- or at the very most, gesture for them to come over.
2. If it's an older teenage boy or adult man, he'll stop moving and smiling completely, looking instead a little embarrassed and quite possibly ashamed.
3. If it's an older teenage girl or woman, he'll slow down his moves entirely, looking uncertain, a bit awkward, but after a moment he'll smile shyly and gesture vaguely for them to come and join him.
Any number of popular songs from the fifties to 2017 can be heard playing from his stereo of all different genres.
Here's just a snippet of what might be heard- and certainly feel free to assume songs and put your own in for them to sing along to or have fun with:
1. Shake It Off by Taylor Swift
2. Rockin' Robin by Bobby Day
3. Don't Stop Me Now by Queen
4. Come On Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners
5. Mambo No.5 by Lou Bega
6. Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars
7. The Time Warp by The Rocky Horror Picture Show
8. Oops!... I Did It Again by Britney Spears
9. Timber by Kesha
10. So What by P!nk
+Open Arms by Journey
+Imagine by John Lennon
+Can't Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley
For House Eleven: As he is doing this often in his room, feel free to have any one of the people living in House 11 join him there.)

CW: Kid serving alcohol??
(You know those stereotypical stands kids set up with the painted sign of 'LEMONADE'? Yeah. Eddie's got that set up at various parts around town except there's no table. It's just a sign sitting upright and he's sitting cross legged wherever he's decided to set up. Although in some places he's found tables to use for the time being. He's get two big things of lemonade- one marked as 'soft lemonade' and the other as 'hard lemonade'. What could this possibly mean? Pretty easy. The soft is your regular old fashioned refreshing lemonade.
The hard lemonade is really fucking sour. Like this kid barely used any sugar sour and it has a kick to it. Is this lemonade spiked?
It might be.
Either way, Eddie's going around serving up some fresh lemonade. On top of that, he has small crates with fruits and the like that he seems willing to part with for some traded goods- as there's a little sign in front of them saying 'TRADE 4 THINGS'. What things? Ask him, obviously. Really, Eddie's not a big stickler, and half of his food stuff will probably just be given away for the hell of it, but he might as well try and get things while he's at it.
If he's serving his lemonade and selling his things anywhere soundproof, he's absolutely got his stereo set up and playing music very softly. Just for a change of pace. If he's around workers, such as people laying out sand or other physical tasks, he very well might come up to your character if they look like they're working particularly hard and offer a cup of the (soft, non-alcoholic) lemonade. You're welcome, buddy.)

One of the natives gave me a bunch of random stuff.
(So Eddie doesn't really know where it came from either, but he certainly wasn't going to say no to a generous gift. Eddie blinks in surprise because wow. Majima...really didn't seem the type to dance?
This gets Eddie grinning broadly.)
Really? Hell yeah, you can join in. What kind of dancing do you do? (Eddie still feels a little nervous to dance around an older man, but he's at least seeming a lot less anxious than he had before.)
no subject
I was into disco back home. But I also got into this 'breaking dance' thing lately. You wanna see that, though, the song's gotta be upbeat.
[ He was already swaying a bit to the music, getting a feel for the beat of a song from the future. ]
no subject
'Break dance' eludes him even further so he just shakes his head with a small shrug.
He doesn't start dancing right away- not until he realizes Majima is for real about this. But once he does know, Eddie starts to smile again and starts moving himself around quite a bit like the King himself. Though not quite as smoothly as Elvis, but the inspiration was there.)
no subject
[ Majima slipped into dancing at an easy pace, punctuated every now and then by a dramatic spin or pose. His movements were fluid in the way a dancer's were fluid -- or a martial artist's, which was probably why he'd taken so easily to the hobby. Once he got started, it was hard to keep the smile off his face.
And Japanese or not, he was certainly familiar with the inspiration behind Eddie's style. He flashed a dazzling grin as Eddie pulled off a particularly choice move. ]
The King, huh? That's a legend right there!
i am so glad this video exists
Dancing was outright fun, and truthfully, it should leave anyone and everyone smiling. What makes him outright overjoyed though is when Majima references Elvis directly. He whirls around, hands slapping over his own cheeks and he smiles straight on. No one seemed to care about old music and now!)
Right! Ugh! Being from the fifties is such a draaag and everyone always says how dull it all is but Elvis is totally the coolest.
(He dances a hell of a lot more freely after that, and it's...honestly freeing as all hell.)
ikr it's so goofy and cute
But this? This was something he definitely understood. ]
The hell's that about? You should put together a listenin' party sometime! Make sure these busters know about it.

(It's probably the loudest Eddie has spoken since arriving in this place and it felt good. A part of him wished that Richie was around so that he could enjoy it too, but there was neither here nor there.)
I try and go all, but he came first! So that means he's the best. Or at least lead the way to being awesome in the future.
(Eddie bounces around and after a bit, he hands the ipod to Majima.)
Here. Find something you know.

The beat was immediately familiar, the percussion upbeat, and the chorus infectious. He broke from his previous dance and lowered himself to the floor to cut into a series of dramatic air flares and windmills. Majima enjoyed dance in general, but there was something particularly exultant about his enjoyment of this particular style -- equal parts finesse and raw, reckless energy. He hit a freeze during the bridge, scissoring one leg in front of the other before dropping back to his feet.
This was the side he was forced to keep a leash on in stagnant, silent Reims. Who knew that today would be the day he finally got to cut loose a little?
He was grinning when he came back down, the way a dog grinned on its way back from a run. ]
this is the best fucking song
Eddie tried to mimic some of Majima's simpler moves, no longer feeling a shred of embarrassment, so his arms wobbled in the air and he made a few goofy mistakes but there was a lot of fun in fumbling. When the song came to a finish, Eddie was quick to pick up the ipod.)
You have to hear some of this future music. It's wild. Hold on-.
(He selects one of the songs that he had grown familiar with, already excited to be able to show Majima something brand new.)
hell yeah it is
When the simple melodic line erupted into the chorus, however, he simply stood there, head tilted towards the speaker as if to drink in the layers of sound, his entire body temporarily suspended in electric overstimulation. His expression was like that of someone tasting their first bite of tiramisu, sampling their first bottle of rosΓ© and realizing there were whole other levels of enjoyment that he'd never known existed. ]
...The hell is that?
[ and was there more of it?? ]
no subject
That is Lady Gaga.
(He completely understood where Majima was coming with that experience. He had unearthed an entire realm of music that, as a child of the fifties, he had never begun to comprehend. Music with electric beats that truly sounded like something spun out of the future itself was beyond comprehensible to someone who couldn't begin to understand how some of the noises were made. Instead of thinking computer, Eddie's head was filled with images of exotic, non-existent instruments.
And there was more where that comes from. He instantly goes to the ipod to change it to another one of her songs, and steps back, smiling even wider yet.)
no subject
[ and wow was that a harp ]
Hell, if they can fit this much on a tiny contraption like that, why the hell do they even bother with dee-vee-dees?
[ He was perfectly content to just listen, though, even the content of the lyrics sounded somehow different. Artists from the future seemed to take a different approach to writing songs, blending instruments and voices and unabashedly declaring their state of mind. ]
Hey, did that one famous guy ever write any more hits? You know, uh... Miracle... Johnson?
[ (He totally meant Michael Jackson.) ]
no subject
(Eddie doesn't even know what half of what was playing through the speaker was or how the lady made her voice do that weird skippy thing.
He hasn't heard of DVDs yet- just some future titles, so he looks a little confused and tips his head fully to the side.)
With what?
(It really was unique, Eddie thought. They seemed more honest in the future. Eddie had even found music where....
where people were honest about things that would totally get them killed or at least beat up back in the fifties. It was a little exhilarating. The name triggers absolutely no memory, and Eddie hasn't listened to enough Michael Jackson to figure it out, so Majima just gets a long stare.)
Who?
no subject
He's an American. Black guy with curly hair, poses all the time and does these crazy dance moves. He wouldn't be around in the 50's, but you'd definitely know him if ya heard him.
Fact, he's so famous you'd have to be hidin' under a rock not to know him -- even in Japan.
[ He was so famous they even put him in a video game about yakuza...... ]
You wanna see if I can find a song by him?
no subject
Oh! The black musicians back from my time were super cool. (Which he says rather softly, mostly because his mom would throw a fit if she caught him listening to that kind of stuff. Eddie shakes his head.)
I haven't heard him I don't think? But there's a looooot of music on this thing that I haven't touched yet.
(He bobs his head instantly. If there was anything Eddie was interested in- it was new music.)
no subject
The name was different, but the voice of the singer was immediately recognizable, from the signature vocal tics right down to the honeyed, soaring highs. ]
This one.
[ He said without hesitation. ]
no subject
But it also doesn't take him long at all to understand what Majima was making such a big deal of. It has him blinking and then, after some time, smiling rather widely.)
Wow. (Black people really were always changing up music all the time weren't they? In the best kinds of ways.)
I like the - heh...The beat. It makes me want to dance all over again.
no subject
Well, who's stoppin' ya?
[ No one to judge, and no one to scold them for not keeping things quieter. The time was now! ]
no subject
He's literally never had a moment in his life like this where he's had an opportunity, and before he can lose his nerve...)
Could you teach me? How to dance?
no subject
[ He inclined his head toward Eddie as he returned to a more neutral stance. ]
What're ya interested in most?
no subject
I dunno. I don't-. Just anything. I don't really dance too much, but it'd be cool to know how to dance better to music like this.
no subject
Alright, let's start with somethin' simple. What'd those guys call it...? Oh yeah, the 2-step. Here, follow my lead.
[ He turned so he was side-by-side with Eddie, slowly crossing one foot in front of the other, stepping back, then doing the same with the alternate foot. ]
no subject
Except if anyone in their little group could figure out dancing, it was probably Eddie. He watches Majima closely, not following him right away.
Except after a couple of seconds, he moves with Majima, his mouth moving to track the movements. It isn't so hard. And he felt rather cool doing it too. He knew guys shouldn't really be dancing, but seeing a guy like Majima dancing around like this? It made it pretty hard to remember why it mattered.)
Like this?
no subject
Like this.
[ Or in other words, throw in some contrapposto. Slowly, Majima began demonstrating adding casual arm movements to the steps, curling his fingers inward and adopting a backwards lean as he went that lent a sort of feigned nonchalance to the whole affair.
(You had to look cool while pretending not to care about looking cool, obviously.) ]
no subject
Eddie always cared about looking cool that was half his problem. Honestly.)
Do...(He begins to ask, but then stops. Rethinks himself, and then finally just shakes his head. He changes his mind on the question he had been about to ask.)
Do you know a lot of guys that can dance?
