[ At any point, people might spot this little guy. While it's always with Akira, there's a chance someone will get a shin tap or any other obvious show of affection, whenever Akira walks over.

[ The clinic is currently closed to all non-emergency cases. But the treatment area itself is still closed off from anyone not in the process of treating patients, for the sake of keeping that area as sanitary as possible / available for said emergency cases.

Akira is perpetually grateful to have Noël, honestly… Thanks to him, he is now able to make curry - and he will be encouraging people to try this, in the event they ask about it. It’s not quite like what he could make at Leblanc, but it’s close enough that it may or may not taste like something straight out of a restaurant. But, for those who aren’t big on spicy (and… yes, it’s very spicy, which he will warn for), there are hotdogs, fruit, and various pastries.

Another blessing from Noël, is coffee beans. So there is plenty of coffee with proper sugar, creamer, etc. For anyone not big on coffee, however, there is tea, juice, and water.

Everyone is heavily encourage to chow down – Akira will be mentioning the food to people as they arrive, and everything is set up on a counter. There’s a dining area towards the back of the clinic, where everyone can sit down to chat and eat.

The entirety of the clinic is currently 100% soundproof, so some talking is allowed here. Akira will discourage high volume chatting, since there will occasionally be patients within the clinic (yes, the emergency area is on the opposite side, but y'know). ]

[ After everything that’s going to be eaten is eaten, he will begin putting everything away. If anyone offers to help, he’ll give them a job to tend to. It will be anything from putting food away to doing dishes.

There’s nothing particularly exciting about cleaning, but people are welcome to team up to complete or mess up at a task. Messes made while trying to clean up happens to the best of us. And breaking things is possible. ]

(( OOC: feel free to handwave characters being given a job to do, obviously. expect to find the medicine room locked ( except when in use ) during this particular gathering. ))

[ Alex is very obvious in the room, due to both his height (which forces him to sit or hunch over) and his oddly-coloured eyes. His right eye is gold, similar to his hair; while his left is a clouded grey. A scar runs along his cheek upwards, ending at the corner of his half-blinded eye.

However, he will only take a seat in a corner and watch the others, both visually and with his Echo. He will not speak unless you come to him, but he holds a quiet smile for everyone and that might just be inviting enough.

At some point, you might find the Byakko cub on his lap instead of wandering the clinic. He scratches it under the chin absent-mindedly, humming a soft song to the stuffed cat. His Echo ability carries the song further than just vibrations in the air - if you're close by, you might feel the faintest impression of wind.

As with all things that his Echo emits, it's gentle.

[For a guy as skinny as he is, Sora's plate isn't very full. He's got some fruit and pastries (the seeds of the fruit put to the side so that he can plant them) but none of the curry.

Sora has taken up a spot on the floor near the wall, sitting down to eat his meal. For anyone who's seen him around the clinic (which is most days), they will notice this his constant colorful companion is currently not around today. It's just him. Anyone is free to join him on the floor and chat for a while.

Or they may see him later in the meeting putting up a piece of paper that announces they are offering first-aid lessons (and CPR) anyone who wants to learn. Lessons take place every Sunday after Quiet Maintenance and that they can invite anyone else who wants to learn too.

Sora looks very comfortable moving around the clinic so people are free to approach with questions if they have them.

And finally, he sticks around to clean up. He doesn't even need instructions from Akira and starts carefully wiping down the surfaces where the food had been sitting once it's put away. Easily motioning to someone else with a rag and pointing to another area that needs cleaning.]

[Food.

A little known fact about Goro Akechi is his voracious appetite. Well... since coming here, it's been rather muted. Today, his appetite happens to be more on the side of how it usually is— that is, quite prominent, nearly to an alarming to degree...

In other words: he hungers.

But somehow, he seemed to miss one very important detail of the delicious curry that he'd eagerly taken...

When he takes a bite, his face slowly turns a rather impressive shade of red, his whole body visibly tensing up. He breathes heavily for a few moments... hand coming up to hover around his face, fingers tensing and jerking... until he swallows it down. Perhaps this is the moment that you see.

Or, alternatively, maybe you see him at the table, and somehow the plate is actually empty...

Also, the front half of his body is collapsed on the table, face pressed into the smooth surface.

... is he dead???]

[After being offered food by so many humans, 9S has learned that the answer to "are you sure" is always a "yes". Coming from Akira especially, he thinks it would be rude to turn down a gift from a human who was so important to him. He smiles as he takes the bowl of curry, and bolsters his confidence.]

It can't be that spicy.

[How wrong he was. 9S takes one bite, and he stops chewing as his tongue feels like it's caught on fire. He forces himself to swallow it all down in one go, and then offers a shaky smile.]

I-it's good...

[ Cue: Flashbacks to Leblanc

Honestly, he's impressed. He'd come upon the scene just in time to see Akechi collapsing just after taking that last bite. His lips draw into a thin line, brow tensing as he walks over to fix a small glass of the remaining milk (from when he'd baked some of those pastries).

There's just going to be a very light touch to Akechi's arm before he simply. Slides the glass over..... ]

[ NINES WHY. WHY ARE HIS HOUSEMATES THIS WAY.

Akira's mouth opens...

... then closes.

It's with a gentle smile of exasperation he turns and pours a small glass of that milk... then holds it out for Nines. ]

... Here. This should help.

[He doesn't react to the arm touch or the sound of the glass being slid over.

Maybe he really is dead.]

Haha... [9S huffs, expression strained.]

Help with what? The food's delicious!

Party Prep (For Akira, or anyone else who'd be around early?)

[Noël has arrived early to help set up for this little party, partly to take care of the actual set up, and partly to supply ingredients. He's not much of a cook himself, to be honest--he can make simple things, but (at least during his days in London) it was typically far easier and cheaper to just buy what he could from the street vendors, or get bread from the church. Things are a little different in a place like this, huh?

What's not different, though, is his lingering stomach of steel from those years of eating highly questionable fare. Even taste testing a curry as spicy as this, he doesn't do much more than cough in surprise at the unexpected burn. (Sorry, everyone, his feedback may have contributed to it not being toned down for you all.)]

Tastes good to me. You're really talented at this, aren't you?

It's a great thing to wash it down with? [ ... well, that isn't a lie. He does enjoy the taste of milk with it. ] Nothing like a glass of milk to go with the curry...

[ A smile! ]

Yeah? I'm glad you think so.

[ He gives another taste of his own. It genuinely doesn't taste all that spicy to him, but he remembers how things had gone for Akechi, after he'd tried it at this level of spice...

Akira's making a mental note to warn Akechi if he sees him in time (ha...). ]

I was taught by the best, though. A guy named Sojiro Sakura, who owns a cafe called Leblanc. He makes the best coffee and curry I've ever tasted.

[That's an odd expression to wear for someone enjoying their food..... It can't be a problem with the curry, right? Curry is a delicacy, after all, and Akira is a masterful cook; Noël has a half-eaten bowl of the stuff in hand himself. So logically speaking, the guy's probably not feeling well. Lucky for him they're in a clinic, huh?

One look at the blindfold 9S is wearing convinces him that it would probably be pointless to try and type a message, especially since the building is supposed to be soundproofed by now. Why is he walking around blind, anyway?]

You alright?

[A soft, pitiful, broken moan escapes him.

He lives!]

[ A quiet exhale escapes, and he moves to sit down next to Akechi, leaning so his cheek is propped against one loosely curled fist.

Have a... very brief... pat to the back, detective. He isn't sure whether to feel impressed (this time) or just plain sorry for you. ]

[Something about Alex draws Akechi nearer.

On the trip, he'd gotten those same hints-- one of a gentle soul, so to speak. Despite his towering figure, he'd shown concern in Akechi and had tried to cheer him up. He hadn't been entirely successful, but he still offered an ear, should he ever need it.

But trust isn't something easily given by Akechi. It's fought for, tooth and nail, as painful and stressful as pulling teeth. Something urges him to lower his walls, but he is a paranoid and distrustful person by nature, too quick to assume others only want to use him...

... but at least at the moment, the veil of depression isn't nearly so heavy as it was on him before. He might not be ready to trust, but that doesn't mean he can't test the waters.

Once there's a pause in that humming, he speaks up:]

A fiery blade, the ability to animate objects and control over wind... that's quite a versatile set of skills you have.

[Slowly, at the back pat, he raises his head, face still flushed from the curry... when he spies the milk.

Have you ever seen anyone down an entire glass of milk in one go, Akira? Now you have.]

Oh, right... [9S picks up the glass, but pauses to give it a wry look.]

Hey, where's this milk come from, anyway?

[Cough.

It's the dry, raspy sort, followed up by a few smaller ones. A clear indication of his intolerance for spice.

Despite that "blindfold", 9S seems to have no problem looking right at Noel when he approaches.] Er... Yeah, I'm doing great.

[.....Huh. Either he just heard his footsteps, or that blindfold isn't really opaque at all? He's not sure what to think of it. Either way, the cough catches his attention; even if it's minor, something like that could probably get you killed in Reims if you weren't careful. Pardon him if he doesn't believe you, 9S.]

.....Let's get you a glass of water.

[Because that will absolutely fix the problem, right? And not make it worse or do nothing at all?]

[Excuse him for the moment of confusion; that's..... honestly a kind of strange cafe name, to someone who speaks French. Noël shakes his head a little; it's not that important, anyway.]

You apprenticed with him then?

[ Sooooo, he's just going to watch for now, eyebrows lifted. Going to come up for air, Akech- ... oh. Okay.

Looks like he's just... going to finish this all in one go.

Should he... should he get him more?

Sweat... drop... ]

[ He gives an amused smile at the question. ]

Noël made all of this. Keep that between us, though, since I don't want his power announced to everyone without his consent.

[He sets the glass down quietly, letting out a sigh of relief as he leans back in his seat.

He thought he was going to die!]

Wait, his power is to create milk? Er...

[9S sloooowly pushes the glass away.] Hooow exactly does he do that?
