[Lavi stands out like a sore thumb in the white jumpsuit that he was given when he arrived. But really, he's trying to ignore it the best he can, bandages of an off-white color sticking out from the sleeves. He tries to ignore that too. Which is probably why on the trail up, he's overly paying attention to the foliage, to Frank's words, to everything around them except for...
Well, probably his own footing. It's still not very stable. Despite the fact that he is walking as quietly as Frank is demonstrating/teaching, he might go down a time or two. Catch the lanky six foot guy?]
[ Day Two ]
[During the day Lavi's tried to make himself useful around the camp, it reminds him of better days at home. Gathering supplies, digging out latrines, looking for anything information worthy... Yeah, he had a weird childhood.
The ghost stories, while probably spooky, only seem to make the redhead smile softly. Mostly he's just paying attention to the translations the device gives him, it's a learning experience more than it is entertainment. Afterward, even in the dark after the fire is put out, one can find the redhead practicing the sign language just outside his tent.]
And the last thing they heard was... Was... [He frowns and picks up his device again, thumbing through the translated signs.]
[ Day Three ]
[Fishing seems to be the one thing he'd rather keep doing this day and it seems to put him in a better mood. Though honestly once he's caught the fish he leaves it to someone else to kill it. Oh, he's quick enough to pull it out of the water before it makes noise, but he seems to give pause at killing anything. Call him a wuss if you want, but he'll just end up signing this at you instead:] I'm tired of death.
[ Day Four ]
[The sight of the Sound Eaters in their various stages is...jarring for sure. It's like something from his own nightmares, not that he'd mention them.
But he stays. For the whole day, even despite others' attempts to get him to move. The redhead stays and watches until it's time to move on and night falls.
But he does seem paler for the rest of the night, more quiet in nature.]
[ Day Five ]
[He's quiet today, quiet but determined. Though still adamant about not being a part of anything to do with killing the deer. Instead, Lavi sits somewhat apart from the rest, hugging his long legs to his chest, just...watching the deer.
Part of him is trying to watch the scene, before the death, with an innocence that seems long lost. When death inevitably comes, he looks up at the sky instead. No tears, he knows it's necessary. And it doesn't keep him from eating anything they've caught and killed on this trip.
But he'll pass on the whiskey.]
[ Day Six ]
[Lavi seems more like himself today, or at least the face that he shows off to the world, the smiling helpful guy that prefers to keep physical contact to a minimum. Except when it might seem like someone needs help.
So maybe he's offering you a shoulder, or even a hand to take whatever you're carrying. Perhaps a piggy-back ride if you're light enough. (He's still wobbly on the balance sometimes.)] Need some help? [He'll sign.
The stories just mean more lessons to him, more information about Frank himself... He wishes he could turn off that part of his brain, but he can't. The music is nice though, distracting, and lets him nod off.]
[ Day Seven ]
[Lavi looks at the village growing closer and sighs softly in the rain, muttering to himself.]
Never thought I'd be glad to see a bed again. Surprised I forgot how much I hated roughing it.
[If you don't catch him now, you might not at all. He's heading towards the private residence he shares with Sora and a few others.]
