It's early in the day when it happens. The red dust that seems to be everywhere sweeps through the city streets, mixing with the steady patter of rain and making it hard to see and breathe. All red and leaving the taste of copper if inhaled, what could have been an easy day without any trouble quickly becomes anything but. While those in the community are heading for cover or finding ways to continue on through it, the new arrivals begin waking up in different cities all over the world. There won't be anyone to greet them, and leaving the room through the door is their choice - after doing so, they'll immediately step out into the city they were assigned. The streets are empty, houses abandoned, everything crumbling and in ruins. There will be signs noting their location, which they'll catch a glimpse of before a sharp push forward causes darkness to engulf them.

Waking up for the second time, in Reims but not in the Reset Room, they'll come to inside the red dust as it whips through the streets of the community. They won't be alone for long. Another person will be waking up beside them, and after a few moments of disorientation, try to attack. They might have weapons or use their hands, and they will not stop until they've taken a fatal blow. Their blood is dust, and they, along with their weapons, disintegrate after they've died. Can you stop them on your own? Will someone come to your aid?

The Sight of Lightning

The day after the storm, the same red dust will find its way through Reims and come into contact with every person. Since the dust is everywhere, some might not notice that it's floating through the community and know that something is off. The effects don't begin until night fall, where everyone will feel the desire to seek out companionship of many different kinds. Though it is not always the case, the people that saw each other in color will "want" to be with that person more strongly than they might already, and will be more likely to confess or do something about it. Some might feel an intense need to be around another person, though not necessarily sexually - almost as if they need that person around them to be happy or content. For some, it might be a desire that can only be fulfilled by more than one person.

The effects wear off the next time the person gets wet. This can be a splash of water across the face or fully submerged. Or even drinking something.

so... what are we thinking? i know mal expressed interest in having kylo ren extract information from lamar via mind reading, which sound like a great idea imo, but what's the end result here? capture, death, injury + escape? personally, thomas probably wouldn't be all YEAH LET'S KILL HIM unless it was revealed that he's done a bunch of fucked up irredeemable shit, but it's obviously majority rules here.

there's also the option of capture/imprisonment since i thiiink there's a jail being built? or it has been built? idk idk

I think at the very least he can be imprisoned and interrogated and then possibly his ultimate fate can be decided dependant upon what is learned. For one thing, if he's working with others he could he used to potentially draw them out right?

And, yes. We have this jail let's use it!

Majima would want to capture Lamar and get whatever info they can out of him for sure. He'd be more on the 'get that info now' side than tossing him in a cell and waiting a bit first -- I mean what if the dude tries to kill himself or someone murders him to keep him from talking, that would totally suck...

He'd be all up for mind reading, but whatever happens he'll want to snap a photo of lamar for safekeeping; I mean dude is supposed to be super old, so this 20something obviously doesn't match the description.

He's ambivalent about jail, so if that's the best option available he'll roll with that.

+1 to the need for information, alex would advocate to keep him alive until they can extract what they can, and then execute him

he also has empathic abilities/his dark magic lets him inflict fear and terror on others, so this can also be used for interrogation if needed

Yuuki as well wants information! So she'd much rather capture than kill him (but would kill if necessary) and she'd opt for prison and a trial after! She wouldn't be down for a torturous integration though.

That said she has powers that can manipulate a person's mind, cause fear or illusions, among other things so she'd be willing to use that if needed. And she has a number of ridiculous abilities to help during the fight, etc.

Okay, so: we ate more or less agreed on capture over any of the other options. Sounds like Lamar will probably have to be injured to be able to be brought in.

The jail could be used to at least stash Lamar temporarily? If he's as strong and fast as is suggested he'll probably need to be watched, and it sounds like the jail will have a steady flow of people around so even if not actively guarded he will have eyes on him at all time.

As to the interrogation, having someone to amp up his fear etc will make his mind easier to get into. Still painful for him, probably, but it's not going to be done with the active intent to torture. Depending upon the information gotten they could then decide what to do with him?

So, maybe what we can do is then have someone ask Lamar the questions, Kylo sift through his head to verify the answers, and someone can tweak his emotions.

Just to maximize the opportunities for if/when we thread things out.

Anyway, if we can all agree on this, I can ask for what information they'd get from him. But I want to see if anyone else has anything to add first.
