MOD LOG #3

MOD LOG #3
Arriving in style
Content Warnings: Fighting, death, violence
Themes: Survival, plot
It's early in the day when it happens. The red dust that seems to be everywhere sweeps through the city streets, mixing with the steady patter of rain and making it hard to see and breathe. All red and leaving the taste of copper if inhaled, what could have been an easy day without any trouble quickly becomes anything but. While those in the community are heading for cover or finding ways to continue on through it, the new arrivals begin waking up in different cities all over the world. There won't be anyone to greet them, and leaving the room through the door is their choice - after doing so, they'll immediately step out into the city they were assigned. The streets are empty, houses abandoned, everything crumbling and in ruins. There will be signs noting their location, which they'll catch a glimpse of before a sharp push forward causes darkness to engulf them.
Waking up for the second time, in Reims but not in the Reset Room, they'll come to inside the red dust as it whips through the streets of the community. They won't be alone for long. Another person will be waking up beside them, and after a few moments of disorientation, try to attack. They might have weapons or use their hands, and they will not stop until they've taken a fatal blow. Their blood is dust, and they, along with their weapons, disintegrate after they've died. Can you stop them on your own? Will someone come to your aid?
The Sight of Lightning
Content Warnings: Poison, sex
Themes: Survival, plot
The day after the storm, the same red dust will find its way through Reims and come into contact with every person. Since the dust is everywhere, some might not notice that it's floating through the community and know that something is off. The effects don't begin until night fall, where everyone will feel the desire to seek out companionship of many different kinds. Though it is not always the case, the people that saw each other in color will "want" to be with that person more strongly than they might already, and will be more likely to confess or do something about it. Some might feel an intense need to be around another person, though not necessarily sexually - almost as if they need that person around them to be happy or content. For some, it might be a desire that can only be fulfilled by more than one person.
The effects wear off the next time the person gets wet. This can be a splash of water across the face or fully submerged. Or even drinking something.

However, before he gets a chance to repeat his question, he's getting shoved to the side and hearing the snick of what sounds like multiple knives at once. Adrien was pretty nimble at keeping to his feet and he spun around with an arm raised, ready for a second attacker, but for the moment it looked like Logan had it well handled. ]
Those look like they come in handy. [ Pardon the incidental pun. ] You can stop growling, whoever that was is dead and probably best we don't draw any more undo attention to ourselves, hmm?
no subject
He doesn't apologise for the noise, though, and looks back at the man instead. ]
You know anywhere safe to stay?

I just arrived in the middle of this shit storm. Most of these buildings look like private abodes. [ He'd been trying to find his way to something larger, possibly hospital shaped, but was finding the going difficult with all the random people wanting to kill him.
After a moment, he turned and pointed towards a small building towards Logan's left. ] That shed might afford some cover?
no subject
He assumes he's got some medical experience. ]
You go first. [ So marked with an upward jerk of his head. ] I got your six.
no subject
There is nothing to be gained by yammering on about who was best suited to take point and who was best suited to cover their flank. Adrien was just going to nod and head in the direction of the shed.
He did give a couple of measured glances back to make sure the man with the claws was following, while simultaneously keeping an eye out for anyone coming out at them from the front of the sides. It would appear they were due a bit of a break as he was able to reach the shed and yank open the door without any impediments. ]
Alright, come on! Before our luck runs out.

He sees a table, which he's quick to move towards and move from its place leaning against the wall towards the centre of the room. ]
You a doctor? [ Another table. How many tables will the doctor need? Jesus, Logan doesn't know. ] How good are you at it?
no subject
If you want bedside manner and coddling, I'm rubbish. [ He answered, direct and to the point as he set the last tool and then turned to take in what Logan was doing with the table. ] However, keeping people alive has become something of a specialty.
[ As the second table starts being dragged, Adrien shifts and points to in front of the door. ]
Might as well make the most of what we've got. It can play doorstop as well.

I'm going back out there.
[ It takes up residence beside the other table. That should keep people from falling for sure, right? Looking around for something akin to cushioning, he finds bags filled with -- what, sand? ]
If I took hurt people in here, would you help them?
no subject
But after a brief consideration, he sighed and glanced around at the makeshift triage area. ]
If you can find people to bring here, I can help them. But I'm not cooling my heels here indefinitely. There are beings out there that need to be dead and I'm very good at that also.
no subject
[ But based on what Logan's seen outside -- and how many people he'd taken to shelter not knowing whether they'd be taken care of or not -- he's sure he'll be back here in at most seven.
He's moving some of the sandbags to use as cushioning on the floor. Things for elevation, too, if that's necessary. Each movement is methodical and quick; in Logan's one-track mind, he's got to finish this before he goes back out. ]
I owe you one. [ Looking up, he meets the man's gaze. ] Shit, I owe you fifty. If you survive this, find me after and I'll do whatever the hell you want.
My name's Logan.
no subject
[ It took him a moment to pick up on what Logan was doing, but then he moved forward to pitch in and help. ]
Situation like this, keeping people in one piece is not something anyone owes anyone for. Now, make me do this kind of shit when things aren't trying to kill us? Then, you'll owe me.
i think this is an OK place to end? y/n to logan bringing raven in? (i'll ask her player too!)
Trust me, I'm only like this when there're fucking murderers on the loose.
[ Logan looks over the interior of the shed, figuring that maybe he's done for now. ]
Okay. [ He nods, glancing Adrien's way. ] I'm going back out. You'll know it's me when you hear someone knocking out [ a brief pause, and he says the first thing to come to mind ] Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star.
[ A small smile. ] Thanks for this, Adrien.
[ Then Logan's running back into the storm. ]
Looks good to me! Y to bringing Raven in!
At least the man has a sense of humor. In a manner of speaking. ]
Go, kill dust creatures and bring me anyone who needs patched up. [ He really doesn't do well with gratitude, even after two hundred plus years, that is one area where he still gets awkward. ]
