It's early in the day when it happens. The red dust that seems to be everywhere sweeps through the city streets, mixing with the steady patter of rain and making it hard to see and breathe. All red and leaving the taste of copper if inhaled, what could have been an easy day without any trouble quickly becomes anything but. While those in the community are heading for cover or finding ways to continue on through it, the new arrivals begin waking up in different cities all over the world. There won't be anyone to greet them, and leaving the room through the door is their choice - after doing so, they'll immediately step out into the city they were assigned. The streets are empty, houses abandoned, everything crumbling and in ruins. There will be signs noting their location, which they'll catch a glimpse of before a sharp push forward causes darkness to engulf them.

Waking up for the second time, in Reims but not in the Reset Room, they'll come to inside the red dust as it whips through the streets of the community. They won't be alone for long. Another person will be waking up beside them, and after a few moments of disorientation, try to attack. They might have weapons or use their hands, and they will not stop until they've taken a fatal blow. Their blood is dust, and they, along with their weapons, disintegrate after they've died. Can you stop them on your own? Will someone come to your aid?

The Sight of Lightning

The day after the storm, the same red dust will find its way through Reims and come into contact with every person. Since the dust is everywhere, some might not notice that it's floating through the community and know that something is off. The effects don't begin until night fall, where everyone will feel the desire to seek out companionship of many different kinds. Though it is not always the case, the people that saw each other in color will "want" to be with that person more strongly than they might already, and will be more likely to confess or do something about it. Some might feel an intense need to be around another person, though not necessarily sexually - almost as if they need that person around them to be happy or content. For some, it might be a desire that can only be fulfilled by more than one person.

The effects wear off the next time the person gets wet. This can be a splash of water across the face or fully submerged. Or even drinking something.

I'm better now that the worst of it seems to be over. [He smiles, although it's a little weak.] I just feel bad for the new people... to just be put in the middle of all that out of nowhere. [Once he didn't enjoy this kind of physical affection, but over his time with Victor he's come to crave it, and it works wonders to soothe him.]

[it's a good thing Yuuri craves the attention, because Victor feels like he needs it right now. He cuddles in closer as Yuuri speaks, trying to breath in the voice of his fiance. Maybe he's not feeling well or maybe the weight of their circumstance is hitting him again as the panic of the evening passes them by. Either way, he doesn't want to let Yuuri go, not right now, not for a while...]

I wish I could help more. [it sounds hollow, he's too afraid he'd end up hurt or worse... Leaving Yuuri behind is something he'd never want to do recklessly.]

Me too... but it's better we leave the fighting to those with more experience. We'd just cause more problems if we tried. Our skills aren't really suited for a world like this.

Makes you really appreciate how easy we had it, huh? What I wouldn't give to just be worried about twisting my ankle or flubbing a jump, again...

Yeah.

But... I guess dwelling on it doesn't do much good either. I already got chewed out once for losing it in public, anyway.

That's just rude. [Victor huffs, rocking Yuuri side to side in his arms, an anxious little dance, but he finds comfort in it. His Yuuri... so long as he's nearby, Victor will be alright. Just don't leave him...]

We can't stay, but that means we'll need to search for the way out... are you okay with that? I don't want to do anything dangerous if you don't agree. [he's signed himself up to go on the trip out to Paris, but if he had to go right now he would't... he absolutely couldn't leave Yuuri's side.]

[Yuuri thinks on the question, for a moment closing his eyes and just concentrating on the presence beside him.

After a beat or two he'll slowly nod, lips forming a determined line.]

It may be the only way. Who knows how long we'll be waiting if we just stay where it's safe.

Staying comfortable won't get us home, it's true. [they need to stay determined and not be too afraid to take risks. The benefit of cowardice is they could stay save, keep their heads down, but that's what the locals want in the end. They want them too afraid to leave or get back home. They can't settle here...]

I'm going with good people, we'll look after ourselves. [he trust Aizawa and Jae-Ha, they'll make the journey just fine. They've got freaking superpowers, for real!]

Wait, you're going somewhere?

[There's instant worry, Yuuri's brow furrowing.]

I'm coming with you. I don't want to be separated again.

I'd been invited along on a trip to Paris, they have some kind of plan to understand the Sound Eater's better. I'm just carrying things, I think. I don't think they'd mind you coming with? [more hands and more to distribute the weight of supplies. He'll be worried about Yuuri in tow, but... he'd be worried about leaving Yuuri behind, too. May as well keep him in sight, so they can keep their eyes on each other, even here.]

Then I can carry things too.

[It's not a question. When Yuuri puts his foot down, he puts it down.]
