I. (closed) cause you're not the way i thought u should be.
featuring: frank castle, faith lehane, rey, poe dameron
what's happening? a daring rescue of faith from kilgrave's clutches. you know, hopefully.
day: 2day/night (whatever day that is)
content warnings: hitting a lady, mentions of mind control, general sass. will update if anything else goes down.
notes: if your character is in house 6 or 7 and would like to stumble upon these assholes pm me and we can do things!
Frank makes his way over in the dead of night, leaving his door open for easy access later. There's a chair and tie-downs ready for Faith's arrival though hopefully Rey will take care of the heavy lifting. She can lift boulders with her mind so hopefully one slayer chick is easy peasy. He has zero capacity to think about all these freaks and their freak stuff, he just knows he needs to get his friend away from Kilgrave before he can make her hurt anyone. Dressed in a navy blue jumpsuit for optimum sneaking (and also because his blood was all over the white one), Frank spots Rey and makes a motion for her to get out of sight. If all goes according to plan this won't take long. And if it doesn't, he'll be waking up in the reset room soon anyway.
Satisfied that Rey has his back, Frank creeps inside the house soundlessly and beelines for Faith's room. Seeing they're both asleep is a relief, but he doesn't know how light either of them do. Still, it isn't the first time he's done something like this, incredibly enough. Trying to only focus on the task at hand, he makes his way over silently, looming over their bedside. He feels sick, knowing what it's like to be forced to do something you didn't want to do, even if you didn't know that at the time. He knows it intimately even, and without someone like Kilgrave having influence over him. Just good old fashioned human evil, no powers required. He thinks of Jessica too, what this shitbag must have done to make her do what she did, with zero hesitation. He owes it to her as well as Faith to end the cycle now.
His wrapped hands ball into fists, telling himself for the millionth time he has to hit her harder than he'd hit a grown man. Frank can't risk her waking up now on two levels. Kilgrave and the Sound Eaters will get them, and that simply won't do. Though Frank is beginning to think he'd prefer the latter, honestly. Both fists come down in the soft spot on the back of Faith's head, hard enough that she instantly goes prone. Checking only that she's still breathing, he tugs her out of the bed and throws her over his shoulder with surprising grace and all but sprints out of the room before asshole can wake up.
The only trouble is, he nearly collides with one of Faith's housemates. Oh, fuck. He really hopes this is Rey's friend she told him about otherwise this looks so bad. A strange man with a severely beat on face taking his roommate in the middle of the night. Oh well, time to double down. Frank puts his finger to his lips in an insistent Shhhh, his eyes flashing as he points out the doorway where Rey is waiting. If he wants to find out what's going on he needs to come with them. Frank shoves Poe towards the open door and expects him to close it behind them. Congrats, dude, your nighttime snack break has now turned you into an accomplice for kidnapping.

Anger flashes through her, wondering what in the world is going on. When Hotdog Princess emerges from the house with Faith slung over his shoulder, her eyes narrow a little. She probably should've asked how he intended on knocking her out, since she's now a full accomplice in this kidnapping.
Staying silent, Rey grabs Poe's hand and tugs him toward her. If he's going to be involved in this, he's going to be at her side. She gives Frank a questioning look, one that promises he better have a good explanation for this. And with a jerk of her hand, she motions for Poe the direction that they're heading. Thankfully they'll be able to travel this distance quickly.

He could tell that Rey probably didn't like this turn of events. The grabbing of the hand and tug made him make a soft hum. Poe lifts an eyebrow at her while looking back at the stranger that has Faith. The pilot has told many crazy stories perhaps the both of them might be able to top a few them.
The motion that she gave made him turn his attention toward it. At least he'd known their goal. Poe turns his head to look at Rey giving a nod before going on ahead of them on quiet feet. He didn't really want to be at the back, scouting as easier for him and he would look for others that could be out.

She just gives a curt nod and focuses on Faith. She reaches out through the Force and lets her eyes drift closed for a moment so she can try to find concentration among all the other life and death around them. When her eyes open, she's got an arm extended and is holding Faith rigidly still.

Good thing Frank had gagged her, because now she's starting to scream and attempt to let out a holy racket. But its all thankfully muffled under fabric.
no subject
"Hey, it's a really weird feeling being held that way, I know. It's been done to me before but not by Rey. We're only trying to help you. Screaming will only cause danger for everyone."
That's all the whispering he would do while moving slowly backward and glancing over at Rey for a moment. Poe knew that this might not work at all. However, Faith didn't need to be scared, but he understands it. He looks over to Frank as if questioning for ideas or suggestions.

"Hate me if you want," she hisses out a whisper to Faith. "But I know none of this is your choice. You're not going anywhere. Not until you can think clearly, and for yourself."
If the Team Captain over there is put off by words being spoken, he's going to love Rey laying things out.
"If you keep resisting, I'll have to try overriding his commands with ones of my own. And I really don't want to do that."
But she will. Because she can, and it may be needed so they don't all die.

The pilot doesn't get close though as he holds out the device for him to read.
There are some houses equipped for sound but it has to be minimal. The longer she puts this up the more at risk and dangerous this all becomes. I asked the native about where sound could be made. I don't plan on whispering anymore. I had to try knowing that it may not have worked. Everything I asked Jessica is matching up with what I was told from her.
You can trust Rey. She won't harm Faith.
He believed that Rey would use it for good to make Faith stop making sound altogether. Poe looks at Frank hoping that the stranger would believe him.
no subject
He pulls out Faith's device because he isn't sure where his is right now, hesitating over the typing screen visibly. After what she's been through, he doesn't want anyone else in her head, but it might be the only way to save her. He shows the brief message for both Poe and Rey to see, hanging his head because he doesn't like it as a plan, but this isn't his scene. He doesn't get all these weird powers flying around, and maybe he needs to defer to some people who do. It's about the only time in his life he wishes Daredevil were here, and fuck that too.
can you make her be still?
And quiet goes without saying. Frank doesn't think Poe is trying to get them all killed, and perhaps for lack of better options he does trust Rey right now. Here goes nothing.
no subject
Rey's sense of right and wrong has been turned on its head, and she knows now that light and dark aren't as plain as they seem. She knows that Jedi have used mind tricks in the past, but until recently thought they were stories. Faith isn't the stormtrooper she had used the skill on before. There's other mental blocks in place. But she still has to try, despite the fact she thinks it's betraying the other woman further. Kilgrave is already in her head, she doesn't need anyone else.
But still, she nods and tries. Because she's committed herself to this and Rey finishes what she starts. It's difficult to focus on anything except using the Force to hold their captive in place, but she exerts herself without feeling drained in a way that would make her collapse.
"You will stop screaming," she lowly commands, wanting the muffled shouts to stop first. "And stop struggling. You will sit in the chair and wait."
Her teeth are gritting together by the last words, and she knows she's taking on too much all at once. She's still learning, she can't just leap right into attempting to be like Luke Skywalker or Kylo Ren. Her hold on Faith flickers just a little as she feels momentarily winded from trying, and she gasps softly as she attempts to reach out through the Force and renew her resolve. She can't do both, and the admittance is written in her eyes as she glances in Frank's direction. An apology is there too, sorry for not being more of what he needs to get this done smoothly.
no subject
The overexertion from Rey gives Faith her opportunity. When her hold falters, an arm snaps free of the the ziptie. It cuts somewhat deep into her wrist when she does, but Faith doesn't seem to be aware of this or care. At least she's stopped screaming?
no subject
The ziptie snaps and his heart is making a valiant effort to climb up his throat, hammering so loudly he's sure the man he's standing beside can hear. If he has to fight her again it won't be quiet, and she will win. He's willing to bet Poe won't fare much better, and then she's right back in Kilgrave's clutches except all of them are dead, too. Fuck fuck fuck.
can you hold her? A panicked message to Rey, but he turns it to show Poe, too. He seems to understand the girl's powers, at least a far sight better than Frank ever could hope to. His nostrils flare, ready to leap into action when need be, but this isn't going to be pretty if he has to and he thinks that's understood by all of them now.
no subject
Well. She's going to just have to exert herself. Her arm extends, but this time she makes a motion downward with her hand. She'll press Faith's arm down against the chair and hold it there. It's a temporary fix, and she motions with a nod of her head for the brains of the operation and Poe to swoop in and tie her arm back into place once again.
no subject
He instantly went into panic mode hearing Frank’s gulp made him glance over at the other man. Poe doesn't have the full experience for this stuff either. But he knows what they are doing is the right thing. It’s right because no one should have to go through this type of mind control. It’s to help Faith recover and be her own person. The sight though hard to watch reminds him that he’s needed. He knows he’s not strong enough to pull Faith’s arm back down but when the motion of her arm does though. Poe glances back toward Rey with his eyebrows raised. He hopes that she'll be able to continue on with this recovery.
There’s a nod back to her as he takes out several towels he keeps in his pockets. Since cleaning duty had been his assignment while being here. Poe quickly moves in taking one towel to wrap around Faith's arm on the chair armrest and as tightly as he can. He knows it won't hold if Rey loses focus again. Although it’s temporary since he’s not sure where the extra zip ties are currently. The other is being wrapped around her currently wounded wrist to try to stop the bleeding. He gives a look over at Frank while typing out a quick message.
We’re going to need more than this.
Poe had to act fast but he would get whatever Frank instructed to get or he'll take over while Frank retrieved the items.

The wound is starting to register, the sting, the smell of blood in her nostrils. Her head falls back when Frank is out of reach, trying to hide her face from them, so that she could keep any bit of the dignity she has left, but not relenting in trying to get free. She'll get tired eventually, but it may be a while.
oh cw suicide ideation
Jess wastes no time in making her way to the garage of house six. She mindfully shattered a jar of moonshine shortly after finishing it off, wrapping it in blanketing and then crushing it under a pillow. She keeps the largest shard in the pocket of her blue jumpsuit, which is starting to smell like she feels, but Jess doesn't do baths. (She hasn't attempted one since escaping Kilgrave the first time and even if things can't possibly get worse here, even if the person who ruined them for her being up and about should take priority in her panic attacks, she hasn't talked herself into the attempt, not while this goddamn sober.) Under her eyes there are dark, sunken bags contrasting the rest of her pallid face, and in them floats a haze of detachment indicative of how little she's eaten or slept or felt any sense of self-worth. Her fist is in her pocket, shard in hand, prepared to summarily take her own life as Hope had done, in the extremely likely event this is a trap.
Just her luck: It's not.
Once she's inside, door silently shut behind her, Jess takes in the scene with dull interest and a total dearth of affront. It's fucked up as hell but pretty low on the list of fucked up things she's seen because of Kilgrave. When no one leaps to attack each other, her, or themselves, she focuses fully on Faith's reaction to her presence. Hey girl. Been there, done that, got the PTSD.
no subject
She looks like shit, but that doesn't alter the palpable relief on Frank's face in seeing her walk through the door. He goes to her side with his eyes wide and expectant, motioning to Rey and Poe with his characteristic little OK sign that she's safe. She's an ally. His eyes plead with her to tell them what to do, with absolutely zero need for typed words.
no subject
What are they doing here?
Because now they can't leave, so. You really fucked 'em over here, hero.
no subject
rey is trying to hold faith until kilgrave's influence lets up.
He just shrugs helplessly in regards to Poe. No one asked for him to be here, but you know!! Here he is anyway.
no subject
Jess can't stop her gaze from slamming into Rey. It clips Poe on the periphery and her over-exhausted, under-slept brain puts the pieces together at a crawl. This must be either his friend or his complicated situation. Jess sticks the glower to her device's screen and types:
Can you put her to sleep?
Then holds it up for Rey to read. Your part is done here, BFF. Too bad you can't leave because you live here and you know too much, not in that order.
no subject
That might not win her many friends, however.
So she just gives a curt nod before turning back to Faith and doing whatever crazy thing Force users can do to make someone go to sleep. She has no idea what she's doing but she's really lucky at being able to just do things with enough focus. Unlike previously where her attempt to control things had been a suggestion, this is a physical pull that will force her to pass right out.
no subject
If she had put everyone to sleep including himself, Poe would probably wonder if she had been pulled toward darkness. He wouldn't necessarily blame her either with all of the commotion.
Once it's done, he'll go up to Rey quietly not touching her but close enough to hear him whisper. "Good job." She could use the words of encouragement with everything that she's been pushing herself into. Poe glances down at Faith's sleeping form before glancing over at Jessica and Frank with a tiny lift of one of his eyebrows. What now?
Open (rescue team, others in the know)
She needs to be beside him. She needs to protect him. She can't be here right now.
Pulling against the zipties and breaking free would be no issue, but the weird ass powers that skinny girl is using on her are thus far holding her back. All the same, she's incapable of stopping that struggle. She can't stop trying, no matter how exhausted she is, no matter how much anyone tries to reason with her. She cannot be reasoned with. But you are welcome to try.
no subject
Although there are no notifications on her device.
She grabs her spear and silently makes her way through the house, but there is nothing amiss. No extra people, despite the fact that she knows they're there. The air feels different. Charged with the late-night energy of somebody doing something in the dark, heavier with the weight of tension from the emotions that come along with it.
But nothing is different in the house. She stands on the front porch, wondering if she had perhaps imagined the whole thing, when she remembers something she hadn't checked.
The garage.
She slips over to Frank's room, and goes totally still once she's inside. She looks from Rey, to the other woman, and back. She has a lot of questions, but the bound woman is already making noise and she isn't willing to expose them to more danger. Instead, she grips her spear tighter and gives Rey a hard look. What is going on?
no subject
She realizes how this must look, so all she can do is give a shrug of her shoulders. No, there's nothing strange going on here. Just one woman holding down another to help her own, no big deal at all. It isn't as if she can pull out her device to explain, or use her hands to try and sign something. Her focus can't really be divided much more than it already is before reaching a point where this is dangerous for herself as well as Faith.
no subject
you need to leave
He gestures for her to move away from the women so he can "speak" to her privately.
no subject
She doesn't even have to play the part very hard of a captured victim, tears on her cheeks, dried blood visible through the towel wrapped around one wrist. She doesn't look good. Hardly a threat...
no subject
She doesn't know any of these people. They're all Old Ones, as far as she can tell. A culture wholly unlike her own, capable of mass destruction even mad Sun-King Jiran could only dream of. What kind of cruelties could they inflict on each other?
She glares at Frank.
No. Explain.
no subject
It's late, and Kara is back standing in front of house 6's garage. When she x-rays the scene this time, there's a new person there - Jessica. She hisses through her teeth. She read the PSA. She wants to talk to Jessica, but she's not sure how successful that will be.
It's easy to get into the house. It's not like any of them are locked. Kara slips in, hovering half an inch off the floor to not make a sound. She crosses through the rooms until she's standing in the doorway. Faith is unconscious now, which is a little horrifying to see as bound as she is. Why do all of this? Had Kilgrave hurt her?
This isn't right, she types on her device, holding it out to the first person to spot her. Stealth was never her strongsuit, but hopefully she can negotiate a rescue.
no subject
He still has his device out and he's not above pleading with her, but he'll keep things short as is his wont.
what's not right is kilgrave sending girls to do his dirty work
no subject
Poe read Kara's message as well and Frank's before typing up a message of his own. The message wasn't going to be the best one but Poe knew how to talk when it was needed. He would turn his device towards Kara.
We're only trying to help Faith. I know this doesn't look good in. But we're not bad people. What do you want?
The words would seem natural almost as if he's said them a lot to people he would run into trying to explain to them that the Resistance were the good guys. Poe doesn't have a weapon to toss or put down to prove a point but he would do something else if needed.
no subject
Negotiating is a non-starter, if that's what they're doing. Explaining is too, if Kilgrave sent her, and pretty presumptuous of them, considering how fantastically this has been fucked up, but isn't that why she warned everyone? So they could defend themselves and each other as best they could? Turns out knowledge, on its own, kind of a shitty weapon.
She reads people's faces instead of squinting at their screens, still camped closer to Faith than anyone else. If Kara is strong like her, then she'll be fast, too, but Jess doesn't have to move far: If she can get up and take that single step before Kara can cross the room, she can end Faith's torment before Kilgrave's remaining victim gets to the rest of them. There's a slim chance she'll simply give up or go hysterical, unable to fulfill Kilgrave's command. In an ideal world, Jess would be able to kill her, too, to spare her from becoming a murderer herself and from having to go back to him. Is it actually that bad or is that just her first instinct now?
Nope. Feels repulsive regardless. Kilgrave might as well just have come along with her, his stink is all over the room
and he hasn't even gotten his fucking cologne yet.
