[EVENING, HOUSE 7 - 21ST JANUARY - CLOSED TO FAITH]
[Death hurts like a bitch. After days of confusion and nights haunted by dreams of a woman's blazing eyes and cruel hands wrapped around his neck, he finally puts the pieces together. Jessica. He remembers what she did. He remembers this place, the strange musty room, the silence.
He takes back his device and scans through the messages. He sees Jessica's public service announcement – Jesus Christ. She told the entire fucking community everything, even his real name. The only thing she neglected to do was provide a picture. How did he ever think he was in love with this woman? He's going to have to hide and he's going to have to change his name. How many people has he introduced himself to? A few: some will remember and recognise him. But a lot won't, and that gives him some breathing space to figure out how to deal with this.
First, he needs a bodyguard, preferably someone who can match Jessica and someone he can control. Someone he knows how to find.
Well, then. A name does come to mind. He goes to House 7, looking around for a familiar face, a girl with dark hair and eyes, a girl who told him that she had super strength. The moment he sees her, he doesn't wait: he has to risk it. He speaks a single, quiet word:]
Stop.
[DAY, HOUSE 9, HOUSE 10 AND OUT AND ABOUT - 23RD/24TH JANUARY - SEMI-OPEN]
[He lies low for a couple of days but he can't hide forever. Eventually Jessica is going to learn that he's back and he'd rather do that on his terms. Be prepared. So he takes Faith out with him and heads first to House 9 where he's looking for Kara, the one other person whose location he knows who is both susceptible to his control and has the ability to protect him.
Then he goes back to House 10, but warily, making Faith check first that Jessica isn't there before going in, and keeping his visit as short as possible. He's here to pick up a couple of things from his room, that's all.
While he's going from house to house, he can be approached – but note that Faith is with him at all times and she is under orders to protect him from any threat or attack. He's sticking to the busiest areas so there will always be NPCs around. Safety in a crowd.]

Evening, House 7
Seeing him step in the kitchen, she reacts suddenly, intent on preventing him saying anything. But it's too far a distance to close before his mouth is open and words are spoken. And she can't do anything at all. She's frozen in place, eyes wide at her inability to move just because he'd ordered her.
Well, shit. ]
no subject
He approaches her and speaks quickly and quietly, aware that they're in a public room of the house and that any noise is dangerous. He's sweating under his jumpsuit. This is the riskiest part of his plan because as yet he's on his own. But not for long.]
Faith, I'm going to give you instructions using this. [He points to his device.] You will obey every message from me. Take me to your room.
[They need privacy and he needs a place to stay. Two birds, one stone.]
no subject
unless he told her to. There had to be a way out of this. She just hadn't thought of it yet. Right? ...right?Her feet are moving again, but not to attack him as much as she wants it. Instead she's taking him to her room. It's not far, her's is the room right off the kitchen. The door opens and she steps inside. There's only a bed with some rumpled blankets, an empty dresser, and a small end table. There's not very many belongings to speak of. A small red quartz rock on a string lay on top of the dresser and a few books next to it, but that's it.
They're in the room now. What did he want? Faith's heart racing so hard she's sure it's making far too much noise. But maybe only see can hear it pounding in her ears.]

He looks suspiciously between the two of them. It was late. He knew there was no curfew but why weren't they in bed? He silently puts his water on the floor to type them a message. ]
Can I help you? [ If he spoke those words aloud, they'd be able to hear the sass behind them. A frown from Mike will have to do instead. ]
no subject
Sure. We're looking for Kara, do you know which room she's in?
[Totally normal request, right? And there shouldn't be any giveaway signs from Faith, she's been told to act as if everything is normal.]
no subject
She has to follow Kilgrave's lead. Nothing to see here, just two adults wandering around a house that isn't theirs in the middle of the night. She smiles at him and waves, 'hi mike' she seems to say, even though her brain is screaming.]

house 9: Shenanigate
It makes her curious enough to investigate, which she's been avoiding since reading Jessica's message. She can't stay in her room forever, though. At least she hadn't hurt anyone. She's just coming out of her room, easing her door closed behind her, when she runs right into the man himself. And... a woman she doesn't know.
Crap. It's him. Guess it didn't stick after all.]
no subject
Go back in there. Quickly.
[The last thing he wants is to do this in the corridor. They need the space for a nice long chat. And once they're in Kara's room:]
Don't move, don't try to harm me. I need your help. Will you hear me out?
no subject
As soon as they're in her room and the door swings silently closed behind them, Kara's frozen, standing in front of the door and watching him. Her heart races.
She knows... she knows what he can do, clearly, it's working on her for whatever reason. And Jessica's message had said he'd done so many awful things. Why does he need her?
Unless it's not true. How can one person be capable of that many bad things? She doesn't want to believe it, and besides, it's not like she's going anywhere. So, she whispers-]
Yes. Fine.

Well, that's not entirely true... He'd just never encountered it like this. He'd never been privy to the gruesome details, and he never had to have someone he'd spoken turn out to be so cruel. Not that Kilgrave had been exactly pleasant to talk to, but he was still a human.
When he sees Kilgrave enter the house with another woman, he tenses instinctively. He's both relieved to see the man alive, and anxious. He said it would be best to detain him, didn't he...? But he can't risk causing a commotion, and he doesn't really know if that's the best solution.]
Hey... [Somehow, that's all he musters.] I heard about what happened.
no subject
You heard a pack of lies. I'm here to get my stuff before Jessica gets me again. Please don't tell her I'm here.
[The message is accompanied by an intense stare. Don't let him down now. He and Faith have other things to do.]

In this case Aaron's unsure about Kilgrave. If JJones was telling the truth, Kilgrave sounds like a Fomorai. Which means the Wyrm. Which means Aaron's not supposed to just ignore that. Add to this that Faith is with him and now Aaron's just unsure in general.
So on one of his trips between houses, Kilgrave is going to get stalked openly by a coyote. Just a typical coyote. Following two people in a populated place along sand paths. Coyotes obviously do that right?]
no subject
So what the hell is it doing? Will it attack? Or is it a spy? He's met enough crazy people here that even that seems possible. Kilgrave stops before he reaches House 9 and nudges Faith, indicating the coyote.]
What do you think of that? Have you seen it before?
no subject
I think it's Aaron. He's a were-coyote. I met him at the party. I dared him to drink a jarful of pickle brine. [Maybe that's not relevant, but she includes it anyway. Take from that what you will, Kilgrave.]

The Elezen attracts a lot of attention by virtue of his appearance - seven feet tall, with pointed ears and a scar across his left cheek. The scar traces upwards and ends near his left eye, cloudy grey in a contrast to the gold of his right. Both eyes are firmly fixed on Kilgrave and his escort - no sign of hostility in his body language, but still piercing.
Tensions are high, that much he can sense. ]

Kitchen. Let's get some food.
[Then a new visitor walks in. A very tall visitor. A very tall visitor with pointy ears. Kilgrave stares at him for a moment, taken aback by his sheer height. He's... not human, is he? That realisation makes him a little nervous, the hairs on the back of his neck standing up. Fear of the unknown. But mostly he's aware that they've been seen by another person and Kilgrave is trying to minimise the number of people who see him.
Still, he smiles and nods, a fairly standard silent greeting. Acknowledging the other's presence. Then he turns back to Faith. The stranger is here for someone else, he presumes, or else he would have approached them. So they can head off to the kitchen.]

Eleven's eyes go wide and she reacts with surprise and panic, dropping the stuffed animal in her hands. Her hand reaches out and she's quick to use her telekinesis to send it flying right back up into her hold. An eyebrow arches as she creepily stares over at the strangers. Who in the hell are you guys?]

[The girl's fear is palpable and so she smiles back at her, hands held out to show she meant no harm, then she slowly reaches for her device. No weapon, they're no here the hurt her or anyone. Probably.
Hi, I'm Faith. This is Robin. We're just looking for Kara? She's a friend and we needed her help. Do you know her?

Carpet is feeling shy enough for the moment to not introduce himself just yet. And yet..... Kilgrave may notice there's a rug on the floor that wasn't there before. More to the point, he may notice that it gets closer while he isn't looking.]

He glances over at Faith, his constant companion, and jabs a finger at the rug. Did she see that?]

House 7, 22nd
There was a bit of pacing in the foyer before he finally grew determined enough to walk to her bedroom. He knew that sound can be used in the house, just minimal, nothing too loud or noisy. When he got to the door, he does a quick two knocks with one of his knuckles, that wouldn't be necessarily loud. It would be meant to get attention. He didn't really care who answered. If it was the new housemate he would be a bit surprised. But at least then he'll be able to find out who he is. ]
no subject
He doesn't like it and so he jerks his head at Faith, indicating for her to get up and answer the door. Meanwhile Kilgrave will stay where he is, with his feet up on the bed and a book on his lap.]
