As noted on the ooc plotting post, this prompt is in the form of a Network Post via the native who runs the Bulletin Board. The post can be found here. Out of the five separate teams, all groups decided to share the footage they found. On the morning of the first, the footage will go live as a compilation in order of oldest to newest. Character's devices will update at the same time. The weather is overcast and sullen, befitting the news, and characters can talk to each other on the network post or play out their reactions on the log here.

On the morning of the second, the locals will call a meeting at town hall. All soundproofing and partnering rules apply - find a person and help soundproof the area. This is so that everyone can speak during the meeting. The found footage has unsettled the natives and after the community takes a seat, Constance will share some interesting backstory. As one of the oldest members of the community, Constance wasn't alive when the Sound Eaters first came but she heard stories from her great grandmother. The 'tales' have taken twists and turns over time, leaving the survivors with a watered down version of events that amounts to - they came and everyone had to be quiet.

An elderly native will come forward and admit that they arrived through the Reset Room when they were a teenager and have been living there ever since. They tried to get home and they could never find away. Most interestingly, to those that listen closely to his story, is that he came with a sibling who was killed by a Sound Eater and wasn't Reset. Yet, he's known people to come through the Reset Room, die, and come back. Piping up from the background, another local mentions that those born in the world they're in now (natives) aren't reset when they die. It's not something they have any real understanding of. Arrivals tend to disappear at random times, stay in the community, or leave; those that choose to depart and explore the world never make it very far. Whether this is from Sound Eaters alone or someone or something else, the natives don't know. It's obvious they are frightened and don't go beyond what they know is safe.

The natives will now ask the characters if they will stay as permanent members of the community. If they choose to, they will be given the option to take on an apartment that is completely soundproofed, furnished, and will be accepted completely by the natives. This can open up doors for characters to become important parts of the community. No character has to agree to become permanent members. If a character chooses not to, the arrangement they're in will stay the same until a few months from now when the natives ask again. Arrivals are given the chance to talk to one another so that they can decide and digest the new information. There is also a comment below to ask the natives questions 'in front of' the entire community.

ooc: Players have until apps close this upcoming round to comment to the housing page saying that their character chose to be permanent members and are taking an apartment. The apartment is located closer to the Reset Room and are either one or two bedrooms; please note which one your character is taking.

The native Constance, who hands out the devices, has decided to step back from a leadership role and has submitted the names of those that she believes could lead the group better than she has. Please vote responsibly. During dinner, a group meal prepared and served in the town hall, slips of paper will be passed around with a pencil for everyone to vote. They will be anonymous unless the person chooses to share out loud who they voted for. There won't be much time for campaigning, but candidates are allowed to do so if they'd like - either handwaved or through their own posts/top-levels.

[He knows how it goes, most people don't leave their own world and always so curious to know how he does it. Sometimes he gets excited children wanting to hear stories of his adventures or just interested people who want to know the details of how he does it.]

The first time was an accident, honestly. My world was consumed by darkness and I got booted out to the catch-all world. There I met up with a couple of guys who had a ship that could travel to different worlds but the pathways had to be unlocked.

That's where I came in. I have a weapon capable of unlocking those pathways that can't just be given to anyone so I went along for the ride. They were looking for their king and I was looking for my friends.

[lilithsoul]

[She nodded, listening. There was less in the way of rapt attention so much as focus. It was certainly unusual and interesting, though at the same time it sounded truly surreal.]

I see. Then you are the one who has the means to travel. But you cannot enter another world if you do not know the door?

[Sora's aware of how strange it sounds. There are rare moments when he questions if he really happened.]

Right and need a ship to get around. [Though he still remembers the few lessons Terra taught him on transforming his Keyblade into a special vehicle. If he manages that someday, Sora will just need something to protect him from space.]

[lilithsoul]

None of which you have here. [Well, maybe he had the key? They had taken everything.] You have decided that it is best to remain in the hopes that they will come, or that there will be an end to the travels?

Do you wish a home?

Not at the moment, but I heard sometimes people gain things back after a while. [They technically haven't taken the key, just somehow made it so he can't summon it.] Yeah, plus I can do a lot of good here. Help these people with my magic and knowledge, maybe one day we'll even find a way to get rid of the Sound Eaters.

I have a home. It isn't a place and probably never will be. It's with the people I care about.

[lilithsoul]

Odd. How would they find something that belonged to me?

[Though if it was the glasses she had... perhaps that made sense. Hadn't she had them in the plug? Or the plug suit, not that she really needed it here. It was a passing thought, though.]

You are the sort who likes to protect others then? [A pause.] The people are more important than the place. Why?

It could have been something that was on you when you arrived. Something they took off of you. Or maybe it's not just people who show up here but items too.

[Or maybe they somehow replicated it. He doesn't know how it works, just what he's heard in passing.]

Yeah, definitely. [A curious blink. People don't usually ask them that.] Because things are just that - things, you can build a house anywhere but it's the people that make it home. An empty house is someplace you live but the people inside of it are what make it place where you feel alive. Without them, it feels darker and colder - not like a home at all.

[lilithsoul]

[She listened. His perspective was helpful, in his own way. He didn't act at all like Ikari-kun, but she could see that protector energy in him. It oozed off of him. Idly, she suspected people liked that about him. They always liked a hero, didn't they?

When he finished, though, she simply nodded.] I see. I do not know that I would say it was colder that way, but I have no home. I am used to it.

[Once upon a time, Sora was even more hero-like. Young, eager and spouting off hero speeches right and left. However ever sing he spent some time in the Facility, that's changed. He still has some hero speeches and always willing to lend a hand but he's mellowed out a lot. More experienced in not being able to save people.]

You've never had anyone that you wanted to be near as much as possible?

[lilithsoul]

[Ikari-kun...? No, no, she wasn't sure of that. She wasn't sure how she felt about him in the first place. And the Commander was not someone that she felt any attachment to, or closeness to, despite what others perceived about her. She valued his work, and the fact that he seemed to care about her, but she did not necessarily care about him in return, not that way. A firm shake of her head was followed by her reply.]

No. I serve certain people, but that is not the same as wanting their company.

[That's kind of sad, actually. That there's no one like that in her life. Sora doesn't see why, though. She's a nice girl, maybe not openly friendly but always willing to have conversations and definitely curious.]

Oh. No, it isn't.

[lilithsoul]

[Well, she wasn't really talkative exactly. But she was willing to convey information wherever necessary. But she wasn't rude. That was fruitless, after all.]

Why is it that this is so important to people? Do we need connections?

[skyofreverie]

[She's far more talkative than others, even if was to just convey information.]

I think it's because no one wants to be lonely. The more connections we make, the stronger we are. Because you might be strong on your own but having someone to fight alongside - to protect and return are what makes us the strongest people we can possibly be.

My friends are my strength. When I'm with them, I'm the very best version of myself. Even when we're apart, I know our hearts are connected. That somewhere out there - they're thinking of me, just like I'm thinking of them and I don't feel so alone anymore.

[lilithsoul]

Hmmm. [She thought about it for a moment.] It is similar to something someone once said to me. Though, he never relied on his friends for his strength.

[And that was why Ikari-kun ultimately crumbled. He was a wreck with no real support.]

[A shrug.]

It's something I've always believed and even though none of my other friends are here, I know I'm not alone. Plus I've made some news ones already.

[Maybe they aren't as close as Sora is with other people because there's so much he's holding back on but he'd die for every single one of them.]

I think... that your attitude is a fairly common one, at least on some level. It certainly seems to be one that several hold here.

How do you decide when someone is a friend?

[skyofreverie]

I don't know about common but I think it's the way a lot of people feel. It's just... nice, you know. Knowing you're not alone even when you're physically alone.

[A soft laugh and he ruffles the back of his hair.]

That's different for everyone. It's easy for some people, like me. Basically, it's when you reach the point where you'd trust them with important stuff. When you like talking to them or would hang out with them just for fun.

Two people don't have to become friends at the same time. Like I consider you a friend but you might not feel that way.

[lilithsoul]

I don't really know, no. [She looked at him quietly while listening to him. When he said that she was a friend, her eyebrow raised and she cocked her head.]

Why do you think of me as a friend? Do you enjoy spending time with me?

[He grins.]

Because we talk about things I don't usually with other people and it's interesting. It makes me want to get to know you better.

[lilithsoul]

There is not that much to know about me. I do not do much other than my work.

[She looked a little confused and flustered, though it slipped away quickly enough. People taking active interests in her well being, or as a person were not exactly common place. Especially apparently well-adjusted people. Ikari-kun had, himself, been fairly close to alone all the time much of his life as well.]

What kind of work?

[If he's surprised to hear that someone who appears to be his age has a job, it doesn't show. Technically Sora had a "job" at age fourteen.]

I am a soldier in my world, and here I am employed in knitting. Mr Stark also uses me as an assistant on some of his projects. I have not been tasked with fighting here.

From a soldier to knitting - that's a big change. Yeah, I work with Tony sometimes too. You know, if you wanted to fight, you could.

[She looked at him for a moment.]

It is different, yes. I am willing, if asked, though the form of fighting I was tasked with is not possible here. I am a pilot, not infantry.

[And they definitely didn't have giant robots around here.]

A pilot? Like in a ship?

[He hasn't heard of giant fighting robots before.]
