As noted on the ooc plotting post, this prompt is in the form of a Network Post via the native who runs the Bulletin Board. The post can be found here. Out of the five separate teams, all groups decided to share the footage they found. On the morning of the first, the footage will go live as a compilation in order of oldest to newest. Character's devices will update at the same time. The weather is overcast and sullen, befitting the news, and characters can talk to each other on the network post or play out their reactions on the log here.

On the morning of the second, the locals will call a meeting at town hall. All soundproofing and partnering rules apply - find a person and help soundproof the area. This is so that everyone can speak during the meeting. The found footage has unsettled the natives and after the community takes a seat, Constance will share some interesting backstory. As one of the oldest members of the community, Constance wasn't alive when the Sound Eaters first came but she heard stories from her great grandmother. The 'tales' have taken twists and turns over time, leaving the survivors with a watered down version of events that amounts to - they came and everyone had to be quiet.

An elderly native will come forward and admit that they arrived through the Reset Room when they were a teenager and have been living there ever since. They tried to get home and they could never find away. Most interestingly, to those that listen closely to his story, is that he came with a sibling who was killed by a Sound Eater and wasn't Reset. Yet, he's known people to come through the Reset Room, die, and come back. Piping up from the background, another local mentions that those born in the world they're in now (natives) aren't reset when they die. It's not something they have any real understanding of. Arrivals tend to disappear at random times, stay in the community, or leave; those that choose to depart and explore the world never make it very far. Whether this is from Sound Eaters alone or someone or something else, the natives don't know. It's obvious they are frightened and don't go beyond what they know is safe.

The natives will now ask the characters if they will stay as permanent members of the community. If they choose to, they will be given the option to take on an apartment that is completely soundproofed, furnished, and will be accepted completely by the natives. This can open up doors for characters to become important parts of the community. No character has to agree to become permanent members. If a character chooses not to, the arrangement they're in will stay the same until a few months from now when the natives ask again. Arrivals are given the chance to talk to one another so that they can decide and digest the new information. There is also a comment below to ask the natives questions 'in front of' the entire community.

ooc: Players have until apps close this upcoming round to comment to the housing page saying that their character chose to be permanent members and are taking an apartment. The apartment is located closer to the Reset Room and are either one or two bedrooms; please note which one your character is taking.

The native Constance, who hands out the devices, has decided to step back from a leadership role and has submitted the names of those that she believes could lead the group better than she has. Please vote responsibly. During dinner, a group meal prepared and served in the town hall, slips of paper will be passed around with a pencil for everyone to vote. They will be anonymous unless the person chooses to share out loud who they voted for. There won't be much time for campaigning, but candidates are allowed to do so if they'd like - either handwaved or through their own posts/top-levels.

[Faith can stop herself talking about sex, but cursing is harder to manage and she figures a girl her age knows how to curse. By the time Faith was ten she was cursing like a goddamn sailor.] Oh, man. I could go for a movie too. Like even some terrible flick, like B movie grade, shot in a back alley with a shaky cam. I'd take it.

Some of those are the best anyway. You can put it on mute and make up your own terrible plot.

[She grins involuntarily.]

Now you're speaking my language. That sounds like a riot. [Faith beamed back, she turns to face the girl more fully and holds out a hand.] I'm Faith, by the way.

[Max doesn't hesitate to shake her hand, eyes bright.]

Hey. I'm Max. Nice to meet you.

Right back at cha. [Faith grins back.] I feel like I've seen you around. Maybe at the fight club or... somewhere? [She's trying to remember. There's so many new people from last month and even when she arrived. She hasn't even gotten close to meeting everyone.]

Yeah, I've been at fight club a few times. [But only with Frank and Majima, really, so far.] I do full time quiet maintenance, too, so I'm around a lot, I guess.

I help PB a lot with the fight club. We're sparring buddies. [She's one of the people who keeps him looking like a punching bag, with a bruised up face and everything.] I'm on the sandpath tech job. I'm around too. Tossing around sand and making paths to wherever.

PB? [She's not familiar with that name.] Well, as somebody who utilizes the sandpaths a lot to explore, thank you.

[She smiles a little and shrugs.]

[Faith openly sighs then. Really, Frank? Just tell people one fake name or give your own. Shit.] Hotdog? Guy with a busted up face? Grumpy but not really?

And your welcome. But hey, if there's place you want a path to let me know. Cause I legit don't know what I'm doing at that job. I just make paths that look good. What the hell do I know?

Oh. Yeah, I only know him by Hotdog. [Even though she knows his real name now, thanks to Kilgrave. She's not using it, and she's not giving it out, figuring there's some reason he doesn't want people to know his real name.] He goes by PB too?

Cool. I mostly just explore the houses, see if there's anything useful. Don't worry, I don't think any of us really knows that much about what we're doing.

[Faith knows his name too, but also keeps it to herself. Protecting Frank's identity for some unknown reason. But apparently he's got one, so she'll respect that.] Yeah, PB, as in Punching Bag. [Faith mimes throwing some punches.] I'm responsible for a few of those bruises, actually.

Fake it till you make it, right? [She winks, smiling at Max.]

[It's all she can do not to groan at the nickname. Punching Bag, Hot Dog. Seriously? She arches her eyebrows though, when Faith lays claim to some of Frank's bruises.]

I take it you're in Fight Club then?

[But Max nods at that. It's basically her life motto back home.]

Sounds about right.

Hell yeah I am. I helped PB test the first run through of the set up in his garage. It was pretty much just me kicking the shit out of him to see how much sound it made. [She laughs out loud.] He seemed to enjoy himself though. [Although there had been a 'bit' of loss of consciousnesses... oops?]

[She looks up at her, studying her intently.]

How do you get passed the whole - not wanting to actually hurt someone you're fighting with?

[Faith's not sure how to answer that question. She tilts her head in thought.] I mean...maybe it takes a certain amount of trust? Or if you legitimately hate the person. [Her laugh is soft.]

But I hold back, you know. I don't actively try to hurt most people I spar with. Only if I know they can take it. PB can. But even then I'm not going all out with him. I'm stronger than most regular people. Faster.

[Well there's the problem. She definitely doesn't hate the people she spars with. Not that she could really do much damage, but.

She cocks her head to the side when Faith goes on.]

You mean like, super powered strong?

Mm, yes. Exactly like that. I'm a Vampire Slayer. A girl chosen to fight vampires and the forces of darkness.

Basically means I'm a kick-ass chick with super powers, yeah. Can bend steel with my hands, catch knives thrown at him in the air... etc.

[This will never not be cool. Her eyes are a little brighter than before.]

Holy shit. That's so cool. [Congrats, Faith, you have a tiny redheaded fangirl now.]

Vampires are real?

Vampires are real, yes. [And she's got the bite marks to prove it. But she's not going to show or tell Max that.] I haven't run into any here yet. Hoping it stays that way.

[She hopes it stays that way too. Sound Eaters are enough as far as monsters as go. No thanks on vampires. But, it's the rest she's fascinated with, really.]

I've never heard of a vampire slayer before. How do you get chosen?

[rockypath]

Not sure. The powers that be? [She gestures to the sky, vaguely.] Used to be there was only one of us. Chosen when we're teenagers. And when we died another got called. That's how it worked for me. But we changed that. Now all girls that had the potential to be a Slayer became one. We needed their help to win a war... [Part of her is guilty for that. Forcing a destiny on a young girl who might have lived a blissfully unaware life otherwise. Now they had to face the potential threat of death on a regular basis, even if they decided they didn't want to join them.]

[beyourzoomer]

[Her eyebrows shoot up at that. Powers That Be? Okay, no offense, Faith, but that seems like kind of a horrible way for someone to get powers. Still. The having powers part is awesome anyway.]

[Look, she just punches the demons, she didn't make the dumb rules.] Wow, is right. It seems like a sweet gig at first. Until you realize what it means...

[Punching demons sounds awesome, so that's the part she's gonna focus on.]

Yeah...

But it's cool, that you can kick ass.

Damn skippy it is. [Faith grins back. She's not going to wallow in the darker aspects for long with some kid she's just met.] Hey, you holler if you ever want me to teach you a thing or too, yeah?
