[ It was with that message that Majima had insisted that he and Eddie take Will somewhere, though he was being weirdly cagey about where. Someplace down Rue Lafayette, anyway, which was where they were currently -- following the newly-laid sandpath to new and exciting* parts of Reims.

They passed dusty old homes, abandoned storefronts with warped glass, but the general consensus was it wouldn't be much further. ]

With all the crazy shit going down right now, it'll be a good change of pace.

The only reason Will is letting himself be dragged along on this journey (and away from all his nice brand-new art supplies) is because he trusts you, Eddie. And you, Majima. Just not so much when you're smiling like that.

(Eddie was thrilled personally. He'd already gotten new clothes this month, and was wearing a spiffy outfit of his own that was completely color-coordinated and everything. Eddie first smirks at Majima only to smile rather innocently at Will. He gently nudges his arm at Will's.)

Aw cmon. Sometimes the mystery of a thing is half the fun. Didnt you know?

(Eddie was just glad that someone in this place appreciated looking nice like he did. Now to just corrupt the other boys here so maybe they one day too would also realize the benefit of you know.

Jeans instead of jumpsuits.)

[ Majima, meanwhile, was back to his customary formal tux, which meant that he (a) stuck out, and (b) was vastly overdressed for just about everything in Reims, but also (c) didn't care as long as the jumpsuit remained a bad memory from now on.

(Besides, he stuck out before.)

Aubaines la redoute, read the large green signs outside the dilapidated exterior of the store. DESTOCKAGE, QUALITE. Large prints were plastered on the store windows, so that it was difficult to gauge what the contents were from without.

Once they stopped inside, however, they'd be presented with an oversized interior, filled with racks and displays. While perhaps not as well-stocked or organized as it had once been, there was still plenty to dig through. ]

How 'bout it? I mean, I'm sure yer attached to that jumpsuit and all, but a guy needs a change of clothes every now and then.

[Still!! Skeptical over here. It doesn't help that Will doesn't read French, so the sign makes him even more confused. He looks upwards at it critically, then trails after the two of them, gamely enough.

Once inside, both Eddie and Majima get an arched eyebrow.]

we're....clothes shopping?

(Eddie's already ducking into the nearest row of clothing, letting his fingers drift over the different shirts hanging up. He pokes his head back out to read between the other two's devices.)

Yeah. wearing the same thing all the time blows. and you gotta wash it too.

(He squints at Will, wondering if he had bothered to wash it at all period.........

But he shakes his head and taps out a new message.)

What kind of stuff do you normally like to wear?

Plus you'll need a backup for that jumpsuit. And seein' how it's all free, you can get whatever ya want.

[ Majima, meanwhile, was looking at Will and trying to roughly gauge his size. ]

Got any favorite colors?

[Will's size is small and scrawny. And all these questions have him looking between Eddie and Majima with a hopelessly perplexed expression.]

i guess...shirts and...jeans and stuff? i like blue, but red is nice too?

can i wear a cape? [William, please.]

(Sloooooooooooow turn around.)

Do you ACTUALLY want to wear a cape?

(Why the fuck does he like boys. They are literally so stupid.

He drags a hand over his face before plucking at least a couple pairs of jeans off the racks that looked the right size. And seemed like nice quality. Actually, he considers one pair closely before putting it back. Nope neither this one. Hmm.

Eddie fusses a bit with jeans before finally having three that seemed nice, and he wanders back over to Will, handing him the three.)

[ Eddie apparently knew his way around the clothes rack -- which, Majima thought, shouldn't have come as such a big surprise. He did take unusual care in his appearance for a kid his age.

He picked out a couple of simple print T-shirts in blue and red, and added these to Eddie's choices. Nice thing about jeans was they went with pretty much anything. ]

I'm bettin' they don't stock capes. But tell ya what, I'll go see if there's any of those... shawl things around.

[ I mean... maybe Will could pull it off. Maybe. ]

[Will automatically holds his arms out for whatever he's given, although he looks a little indignant at Eddie's obvious scorn. He scrunches his nose up, looking about two seconds from sticking his tongue out. You're lucky his arms are full, otherwise he'd be typing some very perturbed things.

But then, stretching to look over the stack of clothes, Will nods towards the derelict dressing rooms.] Zombies?

[Translation: go check for zombies, fashion dad.]

(That wasn't the worst question. This was one of those moments where Eddie saw this rare chance to prove himself not a complete coward- especially after he had already come off as a coward to Will before. Or at least he thought he had.

Except Eddie remains where he is, fussing instead with a nearby shirt, his mouth quirked to the side. If he did go back there and there were zombies, he'd no doubt screech his head off and/or flail uselessly.

Not good for anyone.)

[ Majima inclined his head toward Will, then smoothly turned on his heel and swung towards the dressing rooms. His footsteps were newly soundless on the store floor.

Luckily, there was a cluster of only four rooms at this particular spot. Majima opened each of the doors in turn, careful to check each for squeaking hinges before tilting his head to glance inside.

When he turned to flash Will a thumbs up, the end of his ponytail whisked lightly against the fabric of his collar. ]

All clear.

[Will shifts his armful of clothing enough that he can flash a thumbs up as well. Okay, cool, no zombies, he can go get dressed now. Even though he has a perfectly good jumpsuit. Whatever, you two.

It takes him a while (maybe he cares more about looking cool than he'd let on?) but eventually Will peeks his head out of the dressing room, looking red-faced and a little sheepish. He might need some convincing before being willing to put on a fashion show.]

(Eddie winds up in a few shelves over, standing up on his toes and pocking through some dusty clothes. He eventually pulls out a large square fold of red plaid fabric. He shakes it open and it's one of those oversized scarves women could wear in an alphabet-list long assortment of styles. He gives it a hard shake out to get the dust off of it, and proceeds to turn around, folding it over an arm.

He turns around just in time to see Will's head peek out from the dressing room. Eddie glances over at Majima, and then to Will. He walks over and holds out the scarf.)

Here's your cape. Are you gonna show us how it looks or what?

[ Would it make Will feel less embarrassed if they dressed up, too? Majima looked around, grabbed a ten gallon hat off a rack (why), and dropped it onto his head.

...somehow, it made him look even more like a supervillain. To Will, he aimed a finger gun: your turn, buddy. ]

[You guys it's not fair to be complete dorky goofballs when giggling can lead to being eaten by monsters. Will has to clamp a hand over his mouth, swallowing back the laughter, before graciously stepping out to accept his kerchief/cape and sweep it onto his shoulders. He looks...like a normal kid now, not a tiny plumber, with his jeans and t-shirt. And...cape.]

c'mon, eddie, you too.

(Eddie's cheeks puff out and he has to cover his mouth entirely to keep himself from laughing as well. He keeps his hands there, his eyes traveling to Will's request and well.

If you insist..................

Eddie vanishes into the racks of clothes and there's a soft whisper of sound that maybe or maybe wasn't a giggle. Eddie comes back out but this time he's got one of those ridiculous massive furry boas wrapped around his neck, bright orange, and a massive pair of bug-eyed sunglasses on his face. He of course walks out with the appropriate flare, hands on his hips. Then he grabs one end of the scarf and whips it in dramatic fashion over a shoulder and cocks his head up at the other two like how bout it, boysss?)

[ Majima put a hand over his face, shoulders shaking in silent laughter. Even after he managed to get a slight hold on himself, he clapped his hands in soundless mirth.

Eddie was spot on with that impression; he could just imagine one of the aunties back home strutting down the street like that. ]

I think you got a future career in the film business.

And that getup looks a lot better on ya, Will. Nothin' like a good pair of jeans.

[Will has to physically cover his face with both hands to stifle his hysterical laughter at Eddie's truly magnificent glamour act. Superman, a cowboy and a 40's film starlet, that's them.

Majima's compliment has him standing a little taller, flicking his makeshift cape back.] yeah, i feel a lot more normal.

...kinda want one of those feathery things, though. [Watch out, Eddie, he's eyeing your fashion statement.]

Probably more comfortable too.

(Than wearing the same jumpsuit again and again. His face is a little flushed with pleasure from having managed to make both Will and Majima laugh, and he damn near pats himself on the shoulder.

His fashion statement should be eyed. Eddie removes the boa and flops it around Will's neck, crossing it over and throwing it behind Will's shoulders so that it was fully wrapped around his neck. Eddie steps back and gives a very serious nod.)

It's perfect. Who knew capes and boas went together.

[ Solemnly, Majima took a pair of star glasses, silver-framed with orange lenses, and handed them to Will. They were absolutely ridiculous, and that was absolutely the point.

Then he, too, took a few steps back, as if to contemplate the ensemble. ]

Now that's a strikin' silhouette. I think we can call this experiment a success.

[Just as solemnly, Will slides on the glasses, then strikes a pose, boa and cape and glasses and all.]

i wish i could set off fireworks or something. make it super cool.

(Lord they were a trio all right. Eddie finds a pork pie hat and places it neatly on his head. He looks rather pleased with himself, giving himself a serious look in a nearby mirror. He removes the sunglasses and hooks them into the collar of his shirt.)

Go pick other nice stuff out. Now that you're appreciating these clothes first hand.

Meanwhile, Majima was heading towards the suits section. You never know when you might be called upon for an alternate universe prom, man. ]

They got plenty of formal wear left in kids' sizes. A nice collared shirt'd work, I think...

[Eddie, why are you so bossy. Will scrunches hi nose, then tosses his boa over one shoulder and makes his way to the formal section.]

i don't know how to tie a tie.
