1 -- shout, let it all out (open log)
Featuring: tetora (nishizono) and anybody!
What's happening: soundproofing people's houses, open to prompts, do whatever floats your boat
Day/s: the whole of march
Content warning: profane/nsfw language, possible graphic depictions/narrations of violencei. soundproofing shenanigans
[ tetora was given, in exchange for his knives and other items, a task to do — soundproofing maintenance. it's an easy enough job, if tedious, but tetora hates owing people anything as much as he hates being chased, and he hates being chased a lot. so work it is — tetora sets out, door to door, and waits for residents to notice him before he gets to work.
if you find someone randomly loitering at your doorstep at some point this month? it's this guy, and he's here to protect your house from noise. ]
ii. wildcard!
[ leave me a prompt and i'll roll with it! for suggestions and questions, contact me through pm, discord (lucxy#3832), orsuperdick. ]
i tested all the tables in my house for this tag goddamn
it's my shit, man.
like, sure i can get more of them here, but they won't be the same, you know?
[ they continue on working in relative silence, save for the errant squeak or two as panels inevitably squeeze tight against each other. a few more panels and the counter won't make a sound even if majima decided to suplex a sumo wrestler on it. no assurances for the wrestler, though. ]
i worked hard for everything i have, is all.
I looked at pictures of blast victims for that other thread, I regret everything
That's a good thing. Dudes that don't take their work seriously, you never know if you can trust 'em.
[ Even Nishitani had kept his word when it came to a job. Granted, if he decided to reject a job... ]
oh my god friend no :,C
[ with a quick flourish and small, near-imperceptible sigh, tetora signs all done at majima. at least, where the counter's concerned; the rest of the bar is gonna take some doing still. ]
you ready for the rest of the room?
no subject
Maybe I can sweet-talk some locals into helping with the rest of the house. Still can't figure out why they handed me the keys to this place. Way too much room for one person.
[ but hey, he wasn't going to complain ok? ok ]
no subject
guess they figured if someone had to open up a bar, they might as well hand it over to someone who knows what to do with it.
[ tetora moves on to working on the cabinets at the back. might as well start there while they're empty, yeah? ]
i mean, you ran a hostess club, didn't you?
no subject
[ Granted, he'd only done it for the promise of some choice liquor, but... ]
It was a favor to the bartender at a place in Sotenbori. Man, he was always goin' on about aging and bouquets and all that.
...Hell, it was actually pretty fun.

[ tetora has never held a job his entire life, so. heh. ]
i've only ever talked my way through security.
no subject
[ Relevant.... ]
Now that sounds like a story. One of those lives you were talkin' about before?
no subject
had to get some business done and all that.
no subject
[ He could talk and work at the same time, it was cool. ]
i'll be honest idek what's going on with half of my threads at the moment
[ by the time they get to working on the floor boards it'll be, like, two am at the speed they're going. tetora's really missing a good solid hammering right now. ]
mostly i just hated a lot of people and i wanted nothing to do with them as much as they wanted my ass for one thing or another. it's annoying.
me either I've lost track of the timeline
[ did it really though. also it wasn't like Majima ever got any real sleep around here or ever, so 2 am was a distinct possibility. ]
I wasn't exactly a model citizen back home, either.
no subject
i don't know, jaywalking and other bullshit i guess
you liked what you were doing though, right?
[ gently gently hammer hammer like an old lady, holy fuck this is killing him real bad ]
no point in doing anything if you don't like what you're doing.
no subject
[ Wait that wasn't really an answer, let him think that one over. ]
Yeah. You know where ya stood. Someone gave ya shit, you didn't have to dance around leavin' angry sticky notes on their desk. I figure most people just go bumblefuckin' around, not knowing what they're good at. I guess it's too bad it couldn't be something like gardening
[ It was more of an academic statement than actual regret. It would have been objectively better for society if Majima was simply wired normally, that was all. ]
But whatever. Wouldn't do anything different.
You?
no subject
and i'm good at what i do, so it never really crossed my mind to switch up, you know?
[ it's true enough; why fix what isn't broken? tetora is good at killing, is designed to be good at killing. he's allowed himself to find some pride in that because he knows little else. ]
no subject
[ It might sound defeatist or whatever, but Majima didn't really have a problem with that sort of career trajectory in general theory. Society simply didn't make room for everyone at the top. There were a few reserved spaces for those with the connections and temperament to live the glitzy, privileged lifestyle, and everyone else just sort of fell into what was left.
And for those well-suited for the nightlife? Nothing inherently wrong with it. Or at least not enough to lose sleep over. ]
Actually, that hostess club work... think that's the longest I ever had a straight job. Technically, I'm still the manager.
no subject
i can't believe this.
[ in the meanwhile, during the course of the conversation, they'd managed to finish soundproofing the counter and the back cabinets. a lot of work gets done when there's something else to distract you from the passage of time, huh? ]
look at us, getting shit done. i'm so disgusted.
LET'S END THIS, I yell in fear of the rising tide of the new app rounds
[ But in any case, Majima could lean on the counter and take a little satisfaction, at least. ]
Hey, nice work. You're really earnin' that 12-piece cutlery set.
i shudder in fear of our inboxes already haha
[ wait for it, wait for iiiiit...... ]
oh.
oh, goddamnit, you think you're fucking funny!
