What's Happening? Finding things on the porch, delivering a gift to Steve and a network post - OTA
When: March 5th - ?
Content Warnings: None so far.
I. [Spam - Open to Housemates/People Who Might Be Visiting]
[There's a huge box on the porch when she arrives home from her quiet maintenance duties and for a moment, she just stares at it. She approaches it with caution, poking it lightly with her left shoe. When nothing happens, she moves to kneel down beside it, carefully pulling the lid off and staring at the contents inside for a full moment, shock running through her.
Because right at the top lay her skateboard from home. Broken, but held together with gray tape. She wonders if she's hallucinating, but she reaches out and picks it up and when it doesn't crumble to dust, she hugs it to her chest. Tears prick her eyelids and she rolls her eyes at herself for getting so emotional over something so simple, but it's her board. And it's here, even if she can't actually use it.
After a long few moments, she carefully moves into the house, setting her board down on the couch and then hauling in the box to see what else is there.]
II. [Spam - Open to Steve Harrington]
[The moment she finds the bat, studded with nails, she knows exactly what to do with it. Who it belongs to. She has no clue why things are showing up here that are from home, but it's something she's relieved to see. She's seen Steve in action with it once before. There's not exactly a door to the family room, but she lingers in the door frame when she sees him sitting by the fireplace.
She lifts her hand in a wave to try and catch his attention, hiding the bat behind her back for the moment.]
[UN: MadMax]
So weird question but did anyone else get a big box of random stuff on their porch today?
[Private Network to Kara]
So...hi. Are you okay?

I think that kind of question is universal, here. How we were brought here in the first place. The fact that we're from different worlds, as it is, is something I can barely even wrap my mind around! If anything, I admittedly am curious about many things that I've seen or been told about. Not that I'm suddenly okay with it all, though.
[Truth. Being here still is infuriating. He's just trying to keep his anger at bay, lest he end up making any stupid (or dangerous) decisions.]

[She's less upset about being here than most seem to be. She gets it; most people don't want their lives to be in upheaval and suddenly find themselves in a different universe. She has fewer reasons to care if she ever goes home.]

[At least by several centuries. Seeing how there's so much more, here, than he's ever experienced.]
I'd never heard of those countries, either. I'm from a land called Kouka Kingdom.

[And then he goes on to tell her he's from a place she's never heard of and for a moment she misses Charlie.]
I've never heard of Kouka Kingdom. Is it nice?
no subject
[He's going to be forever curious, honestly.]
Me? It's 450. Kouka is quite beautiful and vast, its people varying from tribe to tribe and in between. It's been enjoyable being able to travel all over with my friends.
[He'll just leave out how there also has been wars and many, many battles along the way.]
Although, I must admit I have a bias for the coastline, and particularly Awa Port, where I spent many years.
no subject
450? Wow. It was 1984 for me back home.
[There've been a lot of those in her world, too, but none that really affected her life in any sort of profound way.]
Was there a beach? I grew up near the coastline, too. I love the ocean.

[Sorry, he's probably going to be asking about many things.]
See? You're also from my future. It's rather incredible!
Naturally. I also lived on a ship during that time, along with my captain and fellow crewmen. [Yes. He's (was) a pirate.] Always having access to the sea was truly wonderful.
no subject
[She smiles a little at his enthusiasm.]
You lived on a ship? That's cool.
no subject
[ See a running theme, now? ]
It was. Things were pretty rough at times, but I did enjoy my days as a pirate.
no subject
Um, well...have you ever seen a play? Where people act out scenes from a book?
[Well now her eyes go really wide.]
Holy shit. You were a pirate?
no subject
[Meanwhile he's just grinning.]
I was, and for a good ten years of my life. It was hardly glamorous, but I have many good memories from that time.
[Though his definition of a pirate is probably skewed. . .]
no subject
[This is...harder to explain than she thought it would be.]
That's so cool, though. Did you have a sword?
no subject
[ And so there were times where the message got all mixed up. ]
I use throwing knives, actually! Although I'm capable with a sword, and also fight hand to hand. I pack one mean kick, I must admit.
[ Then again, his dragon's leg holds the strength that is ten times that of the average man. ]

We had phones, which is where you can just talk to each other but - you don't type on them or take pictures with them or anything like that. But this technology's really advanced for me too.
[Throwing knives sound awesome.]
Do you ever spar with anyone here?
no subject
[It's at least one way to distract his thoughts.]
I haven't. Admittedly, I'm not always one who spars, but honestly have a lot of pent up energy in this place that I could do without.
no subject
You should come to Fight Club. It helps with some of that.
no subject
[ Sorry, the idea of something like that (or his interpretation) leaves him a little incredulous. ]

It's where people can train or learn how to defend themselves in case there's trouble.

My name is Jae-Ha, by the way.
